Defensive Player Spotlight
While Rey Maualuga gets most of the press, Brian Cushing is as much a play maker as his linebacker counterpart. Cushing has played all over in Pete Carroll's aggressive defense; down, up and mostly in the opponent's backfield. He has faced some of the great players in 4 years at USC, many of them right at practice every day. Cushing's toughest test will be this weekend, when he goes up against the massive Ohio State line and big time tailback, Beanie Wells. Offensive Player Spotlight
The Horseshoe had never been so quiet as it was 4 weeks ago when Ohio State's Heisman Hopeful, Chris "Beanie" Wells, went down in the 3rd quarter in a win vs. Youngstown State. The trainers will be working overtime to get Wells' right foot healed up as much as possible for this weekends game against number 1 Southern Cal. As evidence of last weeks win at home versus Ohio, Beanie is an integral part to the offense and it is not nearly as effective without him. All indications are that Wells will play and he will be ready to go at for Saturday night's game. However, one hit from USC linebacker Brian Cushing, could change the fate of Buckeye nation.
