PatriotofMaine
Welcome to Consensus Draft Services (CDS). We hope you will become a CDS junkie like the rest of us (WARNING: CDS is very addictive). The more you post, the more respect you get on the boards and the higher your 'poster ranking' is. Do you have what it takes to be a Head Coach?

We're a big happy band of brothers (and sisters too, believe it or not) here, so make your first post by clicking "fast reply" or "add reply" here. Say a few words about your self, and read the nearby thread for a summary of what CDS is all about and to fidn out how you can get more involved.

Once again, we're very pleased you've found us, and we hope you will truly enjoy the wealth of free information available through our website. Of course, we also encourage you to upgrade to premium in order to be among the best-informed experts on the NFL draft anywhere in the good old USA.

jcarnahan
Welcome to CDS JCD. I'll get the webmaster to look into that. Maybe your avatar was too large a file size or something?
JCD
No it happens when I click on the change avatar link. It goes to a page that says you are not logged in to change your avatar.
PatriotofMaine
Welcome JCD!! Very glad you found us.

Darren, can you please assess what the problem is here and let me know.
boeing747fp
hmmm... there seems to be a problem with the global login system... ill fix it tomorrow... try this--> go to the CDS Homepage and make sure it says you are logged in... then from there go to http://cdsdraft.com/4/edit_avatars.php and it SHOULD work... i think it's because you were only using the boards and didnt go to our homepage first to get session values set... ill fix it so that doesnt happen anymore when i work tomorrow.

Welcome Bravo. Glad to have someone of your caliber hanging out with us here.
DirkDiggler
Hello--

I thought I would introduce myself. I was introduced to this board by jwest. I am active on another board that he used to frequent, ffpro.com

My name unfortunately does not come from any body part. wink.gif It arrives from my Keeper League Name, DirkDiggler's GameCOCKS.

I live in the DC area and can not escape news on the dreaded Redskins. I myself am a HUGE Eagles fan. I was born in Camden. My parents got the hell outta there when I was two months old and moved to Mt Laurel.

While I am active on message boards all year long, my favorite time of the year to participate in message boards is the offseason. Two reasons for this. I am in a DEEP keep league. You gotta keep up with who is going to be a free agent or traded. And of course, you have to keep an eye on the draft. The second reason is you don't have the idiots posting messages such as, "should I start Shaun Alexander or should I play the matchup and start Antwoin Smith?"

Anyway, I look forward to participating in the draft discussion here and utilizing the great information available.

Thanks and Take care,
PatriotofMaine
Thanks for finding us. Great to have another Eagles fan around. I was born in Reading and lived in Havertown, Upper Darby, Pottsville as a boy...went to school in Media during my Junior year of HS, so I really should be an Eagles fan too, but my dad hated sports and I wasn't raised watching it growing up until I discovered it for myself after we moved to Maine when I was 11. So, I've been a Pats fan all these years--and finally it has paid off lately.

Great to have another knowledgeable and serious draftnik aboard!

WELCOME!!
eaglesfan
I myself am a Eagles fan also so I'm glad to have another one here. I used to live in Philadelphia, New York before that so I should really be a Jet or Giants fan, now I live in Maryland. I am probaly the youngest of all the users on this site by reading about everyone else's mini bios you can call it.
PatriotofMaine
Welcome Eaglesfan!! Glad you've been around lately...
nowakjoe
Hi, also a newbie here. Big Pats fan, love all the draft info. I have posted a few replies so far. Love chating to all the potential draft picks.
Richard Marshall from FSU has been great, responded to all the questions I asked him. Hope the Pats draft him. GReat draft site keep up all the great work!!! Go Pats!!!!!!!

Welcome nowakjoe! Glad to hear you're enjoying some of the features at CDS!
PatriotofMaine
Hey Joe...enjoyed lots of your posts already. Where you from?

Wilbraham Ma. home of Friendly's Ice Cream.
PatriotofMaine
Cool. I know Wilbraham well. Been by it a thousand times. I always remember the big Friendly's sign on the Mass Pike welcoming folks to town. My brother-in-law, Bob Lastowski, is the head coach at Holyoke High, and we visit their frequently going right by your place.

Hi! I'm another newbie to the board. I went to NIU, and like to see what the scouts think about the various players available for the draft. Also follow the NFL, I root for Da Bears (they need a WR). Was hoping to get a more objective viewpoint of the players, less centered on all the hype that some players on the top teams get.

Well, since NIU plays in the MAC, I like to see how guys like Sam Hurd, Brian Van Acker, Greg Jennings, and Bruce Gradkowski stack up in relation to the other prospects at their positions, and what round they might go in if they're drafted. Also curious about the top RBs, since all we ever hear about is Reggie Bush, wondering about the other top backs like Maroney and DeAngelo Williams.
PatriotofMaine
I love Hurd and Van Acker. Both of their stocks have risen this year from the UDFA area to where I would put both of them in the 6-7th round area now. Gradkowski lost ground this year and went from a possible 3rd rounder to the 5-7th area. Jennings is the hardest for me to gauge as far as draft position, but if I had to guess I would say 6th-UDFA.

Williams and Maroney are both first round backs, along with LenDale White and perhaps even Michael Bush (if he declares.) You will get differing opinions here, but I personally would rank those guys: Maroney, White, Williams and Bush.
gsimon
Why do you think Gradkowski dropped this year - based on his stats? I know his receivers have dropped a lot of passes this year, which definitely hurt his numbers.
PatriotofMaine
Gradkowski has not thrown more than a couple of passes over 20 yards in any game that I scouted this year. He just hasn't proven that he has what it takes to be a threat throwing the ball deep. He is a bit small by NFL standards to begin with and had a subpar senior year and looked worse later in the year than early on. I love his grit, determination and toughness and he is a deadly short range passer who could redeem himself between now and the draft, but right now (as much as I hate to say it, because I am a fan of his overall game) he is at least 2 rounds below where he was before the 2005 seson began, IMHO.
nowakjoe
Patriotsof Maine What do you think of the Pats drafting early a tweener DE/LB in the Willie McGinnest mode? I'm thinking someone like Manny Lawson.

I'm new also and for my first post I'd like to thank booya and jackson(for Cal) for their awsome performance in the game against Oregon! I've never seen a better 12 and 13 man for any defense. laugh.gif Go Ducks!!!
PatriotofMaine
Glad you finally found us, wb wink.gif

Hope you will enjoy it and stop by often.
rogercraig33
Hello to all,

Meaning behind the Name Roger Craig is simply because I'm a long time 49ers fan and I love Roger Craig and his unique running style with his high knees action, I wish more RB's ran that way, and don't forget Roger was the first running back to gain both 1000 running and receiving, a goal only accomplished by Marshall Faulk recently.

My dream job would be to scout NFL and college players. I feel I have what it takes to disect the in's and out's of a players heart, will to win and potential to be a star.

Thanks to CDS for this wonderful site.
PatriotofMaine
Nice to have you here too, RC. Thanks for the compliment.

Enjoying your thoughtful posts!

I wonder about the arm strength too. He beat NIU deep a few times in previous years, so I think he can do it, but their offense revolves around the short passing game, and I haven't seen him enough to really know if he throws long successfully. It's true his size doesn't help, though that didn't change since last year of course. Although I hate Toledo, it would interesting to see him play at the next level, because I do admire his toughness, and he's surprisingly mobile too.

GSimon,

No one can ever question this kid's toughness, mobility or football smarts. It will be interesting to see how he does tonight against UTEP. Quite a good QB battle going tonight (ESPN 8PM).
