Went back and watched the tape, here's what I saw.
MICHIGAN
Gabe Watson 78 604.0 333 5.18 NT-He looked okay. A few pressures and 1 tackle I believe. He will not live up to the hype he is getting. NEGATIVE.
Jason Avant 8 601.0 209 N/A WR -His best game in some time, he snagged 9 balls from 127 yards and 1 TD. I think he is going to get much better as the season moves on. POSITIVE
Lawrence Reid 42 601.0 219 4.73 LB -Out forever with injury, forgot to take him out.
Pierre Woods 99 605.0 248 N/A LB -Roamed around here and there, didnt do a whole lot. NEGATIVE
Steve Breaston 15 601.0 181 N/A WR -1 catch. Returns went okay, but not someone who has the skill he has. NEGATIVE.
Adam Stenavich 79 605.0 317 5.1 OT -Adam and the line played well and let Henne throw and Mike Hart run. Most of the offense came on the ground, so the troops did well. Very impressed with Stenavich. POSITIVE
Matt Lentz 67 606.0 305 5.1 C POSITIVE
Tim Massaquoi 88 604.0 248 4.7 TE -Blocked in the run and pass game very well, but didnt catch a lot of balls. He will be a situational TE at best at the next level, nothing more. NEUTRAL
LaMarr Woodley 56 602.0 248 4.6 LB -This tweener looked damn good on Saturday. He forced a fumble, recovered a fumble, and had a tackle for loss. Hes picking up where he left off. I think he will emerge as the leader of this defense. VERY POSITIVE.
Pat Massey 94 608.0 284 5.3 DT -Hes moving around and playing some end too, but he looks equally not that great here. When is he going to step up? NEUTRAL.
Jake Long 607.0 338 N/A OT POSITIVE
Tyler Ecker 606.0 250 N/A -NON EXISTENT
NORTHERN ILLNIOIS
A.J. Harris 24 600.7 223 N/A HB -Didn't get the bulk of the carries, but looked good when he was in. Did score a TD. NEUTRAL
Doug Free 606.0 290 5.0 OT -Paved the way for the studs to run. He did good in not allowing Watson or the other members of the dline get through as much. POSITIVE.
Garrett Wolfe 1 507.0 178 4.39 HB -Looked really good including a big time run. Averaged almost 9 yards a carry and finished right around 150. Had a touchdown as well. POSITIVE.
The story of the game was turnovers. NILL just turned the ball over way to much and had a chance in the first half, but couldnt handle UM and the running attack in the 2nd half.

I also taped this one.
I agree with all of Adam's assessments, but just want to add a couple of my own comments as well:
UM:
1. Avant was superb...better than I thought and Breaston was a bigger disappointment than I expected.
2. I was very impressed with both Lentz and Stenavich...more of a great UM tradition of producing technically solid maulers. Lents is a huge center who should probably get drafted...may need to add him to our position rankings.
3. Why is Woodley not starting?????
UNI:
1. Wolfe and Harris is as solid a tandem as there is anywhere in college football. Both of these guys will find homes at the next level eventually.
2. Free is a big time OT....needs to be added to our rankings also.
3. I was equally impressed with UNI Center Brain Van Acker. He is a warriot who held his own all day against Watson and DEFINITELY, IMHO belongs in the database.

Woodley is one of my favorite players in college football. I think he could bulk up and be a Willie McGinest type player.

Yeah, hes good!
He can play down or up and is really pretty underrated as far as 2 skill position players go. He was all over the field on Saturday, and will be all year. But you're right, he has to bulk up a little to be effective in the NFL.

Even at his present size he'd be a very good 4-3 OLB, if he keeps improving he could pass Hawk in my mind.

This year or any other, Hawk will be drafted first, however Woodley is more versatile.
