I forgot to introduce myself before I started posting. My name is Shaun, and I follow NCAA & NFL football. I'm also a draft geek. I write for a draft website as well. Through that gig I've had the pleasure of meeting some of these player's folks & agents in an attempt to solicit me to pub their son/client. I'm a Dallas Cowboys & NY Giants fan as well. How can that be? Dallas has always been my team, but I live near Albany, NY so I'm a regular at the Giants training camp. After you go there enough and meet enough players, you become fan. I look forward to chatting....

It's a little slow on the site right now, but it's a site that really heats up after the season. Alot of interesting interviews & articles on there about draft prospects, not just profiles on them. I'm one of the writers that provides the articles.

I tried to find a article of your's to read but couldn't find one. Though I did see a post saying that some article you wrote about the Colts was pretty good. Tried to search the message boards to try to find a article of yours but you only had 3 post on there so it didn't help me.
Also, come on man. You can't be a Cowboys and Giants fan lol. Im a Cowboys fan, I probably only live about 2 hours from you. I live in Auburn, it's about 30 mins. from Syracuse.

Yeah the reason why you couldn't find any of my past articles is because they just decided to get away team articles. Now everyone is an NFL Draft writer whereas we used to be specific to one team. I wrote for the Colts. The post that someone may have mentioned that was fairly recent was my article analyzing their draft, which was a snoozer to say the least.
I actually live about 10 minutes from Rome, so I'm not that close. I'm actually about 45 minutes away from Syracuse, but close enough to make every home game. As you might imagine, I have October 15th marked down on the calendar. Bowling Green @ Buffalo.
GOING TO MEET OMAR JACOBS BABY!!! LOL

So obviously you like Omar Jacobs...can you tell me why he is your favorite player?

He is my favorite player in this draft. To me, he's the medium to Vince Young. From what I know, Young would definently go in the top 5-10 picks if he declared after this season. Omar Jacobs belongs in that same range, but brings you more as a QB than Young. Sure, he has his knocks. Competition, his performance vs. Boise, and delivery issues, but who doesn't have knocks coming out of college? If you're going to take a QB at the top- and I touched on alot of this in my article for OTC, what is really seperating Jacobs from Leinart? We know what seperates Omar from Vince. Omar has far more passing ability. But with Leinart, you need to have a perfect pass-blocking scheme in place, or he'll get murdered. He's a drop-back, and unless you protect him like Indy protects Manning, he's going to get killed on a regular basis because he can't create on his own. Omar gives you similar passing ability, but much more mobility. With the speed coming out of college now for the defensive side of the ball, it's no coincidence that mobile QBs with good arms are en vogue. I venture to say that if Leinart wasn't Mr All- Everything at USC, he would only be a borderline 1st round prospect at best because of his limitations. I think whoever takes Omar is going to have a steal. Especially if he falls out of the top 10.

Are you surprised that Omar doesn't do more with his feet? I hear he can, but he just doesn't. I also hear he is not a TRUE blazer.

Not too surprised because there is that possibility that he doesn't want to get caught in that demographic of athletic QBs that can move around and run, but can't throw or read a defense for their life. I wouldn't call him a blazer in the mold of a Vick or a Young, but he can definently scoot, and enough to move around an NFL pocket. He's no lead-foot now.

I see that on my name, and I don't know why. I put Cowboys/Giants on my profile, but in the forum, it says Maine. I dunno.
