College: Georgia Conference: Southeastern

Gerald Anderson 92 602.0 315 DT

DNP Concussion

Greg Blue 17 602.0 214 S

Slighly Positive - He is a very physical player and had some good hits in the game. He really uses his size to his advantage. I never really got to see him in coverage, which I have read is his main weakness.

Kedric Golston 97 604.0 295 DT

DNF Elbow

Max Jean-Gilles 74 604.0 340 OG

Neutral - He struggled at time with his pass protection. Doesn't seem to be able to have good lateral mobility and can get turned around easily. He is a good run blocker who really locked his hands into defenders and drove them where he wanted to. About what I expected.

Leonard Pope 81 607.0 250 TE

Slightly Negative - You can definitely see why people are excited about his potential. He has a huge frame for a TE, but he never really used it to shield defenders from the ball. He had tons of balls thrown his way and only caught a handful of them. Good at getting open, not as good at sealing the deal with a catch.

DJ Shockley 3 601.0 206 QB

Slightly Positive - He really is getting the hang of scrambling to open up receivers downfield. He is better than I expected at throwing on the run during those opportunities. Still inconsistent throwing deeper down the field.

Daniel Inman 607.0 322 OT

Positive - Was very effective all night. He appeared nimble and moved his feet well during pass protection. Was also solid in the running game, showing good upper body strength by driving defenders from the point of attack. The more games I scout and watch, the more convinced I am that this is the year of the OT. Inman is another name to add to the growing list.

DeMario Minter 2 600.0 198 CB

Slightly Negative - Struggled in coverage in the game. He had a couple interference and holding penalties trying to keep up with Vandy's receivers, which worries me.

College: Vanderbilt Conference: Southeastern

Jay Cutler 6 604.0 225 QB

Positive - Going up against an UGA defense is always a good test, and I would have to say that Cutler passed it. He has a lot more mobility than I had anticipated, escaping the pocket when it collapsed. He seemed comfortable throwing on the run, and made plays while doing it. He was very cool in the pocket and hit open receivers throughout the game. Definitely climbing up the charts and becoming less of an unknown.

Erik Davis 2 602.0 185 WR

DNP, or at least I never saw him.

Moses Osemwegie 30 600.0 228 LB

Slightly Positive - He didn't seem outmatched or overwhelmed against UGA's offensive line. He held his own and played physical and smart.

Kelechi Ohanaja 12 600.5 192 S

Slightly Positive - He was a more physical player than I expected, and made several tackles against the run in the box. I never noticed him in pass coverage against receivers, but he did a fine job against Pope

Hmmmm...and we just added Minter to the top 100. Do you think he might need to come off, Jeff?

Not just because of one game, no.

That's what bothers me about Giles from a projection standpoint. He's got heavy legs and feet and therefore, lacks top quality lateral movement. Also, can't see him doing well as a pull / trap guy. How can he be the best overall guard prospect if he can't handle those basics?

He's looked fantastic in every UGA game I've seen this year. I did not see the Vandy game so I cannot comment on that one. I wouldn't pull him off because of one subpar game.

Brian,

I've never personally been all that high on Max either. I think he will be sliding from now until draft day, and will probably wind up late 2nd.

If he's lucky. I was guessing more 4th or 5th.

If Jean-Gilles slips any lower than mid 30s, I'll be astonished. He's a mauler at guard and any team that pounds the ball inside needs someone like him to destroy the defensive tackles (which is what he does now and what he will do at the next level).
