The Cardiac Kids from Westwood complete another big comeback. With less than 7 minutes left to go in the game, the Bruins were down 24-3. They scored 3 times in the final 7 minutes to send the game into overtime where the game was already over. Olsen completed to game winning throw to Breazell on the 3rd play of their first overtime possession. Havner once again lead the defense absolutely shutting the Cardinal down when UCLA began their comeback. Stanford is just the latest victim of this 4th quarter team.

UCLA PP's:

Spencer Havner- played rather mediocre for 3 quarters, but then as if someone turned on a switch, was almost godlike in the 4th. His senior leadership carried UCLA to their OT win: very positive

Maurice Drew- An ok day for him as far as stats, but was a very reliable target for Olsen in the 4th. Also, scored 2 TD's in the final period: positive

Drew Olsen- looked like the old Drew Olsen for much of this game until he went John Elway on us leading his team back yet again. On a 4th and 3 with just under 2 minutes to go, he was pressured, but stayed poised and completed the first down throw to Joe Cowan. Seems to look better each week: very positive

Marcedes Lewis- Stanford did a very good job covering him, limiting him to only 39 yards receiving, I'm gonna to give him a negative on this game, but it's really not his fault: negative

Justin London- I really like his speed, I think a team might covert him to safety as the Seahawks did to Michael Boulware 2 years ago: positive

Jarrad Page- I really did not get to see much of him all I can say is that he is silky smooth is coverage(most of the time), and then when the time comes, he can lay a big hit out: neutral

Stanford PP's:

Kevin Schimelmann- Heard his name a lot but I wasn't too impressed with him: negative

Jon Alston- I think he looks good, but he is very undersized for a LB, he needs to find a new position or can be a special teams contributor in the NFL: positive

Babatunde Oshinowo- Seems to clog the middle very well, Drew and the Bruin running game got going in the 4th but until then, they were shut down. Credit the change to UCLA, as well as the gradual weardown of Stanford in this game: positive

Michael Craven- is he hurt?

JR Lemon- Frank seemed to get more of the carries, Lemon did not have a very good game rushing the ball, averaging just 3.3 yards per carry with a long of 8. However he had a career day receiving the ball, with 50 yards and 2 TD's: slightly negative

Julian Jenkins- looks good, has some very nice moves, a good first step, however he and the rest of the Stanford dline fell asleep and gave Olsen all day long to throw in the 4th: slightly positive

I think Joe Cowan should be written up, he has great size and was CLUTCH in this game. Just a Jr., but is definantly worth looking at.

UCLA keeps their perfect season alive with just another comeback.

Jenkins and Oshinowo were both very solid. I was impressed with both of them. Jenkins had 3 sacks..though none of them came over Ed Blanton, Bill...(hint, hint.)

I agree that Spencer was amazing in this game. He really played well the whole time, was juked a couple of times, but his intensity and flat out smacks in the 4th quarter led this comeback. The announcers gave the defensive game ball to "the entire UCLA defense," but we know who really deserved it.

Drew Olson keeps climbing and could find himself in round two before all is said and done. Not bad for a guy who wasn't even considered a 7th rounder by most coming into the season. He has a touch of that Flutie-Montana-Brady magic about him, no doubt about that. If we ranked guys purely on the ability to lead their team back from late deficits to wins he would be our #1 QB.

Can anybody say Heisman race?

I don't know about #1 QB, don't forget that Leinart has also down the same thing this year as has Young. But, I agree that Olsen is playing at his best right now, and like I said, he's going John Elway on us.
