Gabe Watson 78 604.0 333 5.18 NT -Actually started this game and looked somewhat decent. He got a lot of pressures on Basanez and forced him to throw the ball when he didnt want to. Looked real good. POSITIVE

Jason Avant 8 601.0 209 N/A WR -Sold his routes perfectly. Made another acrobatic catch. Didnt hold up as well against the jam, but still had another solid game. POSITIVE

Lawrence Reid 42 601.0 219 4.73 LB -DNP injury

Pierre Woods 99 605.0 248 N/A LB -Been playing alot up and down. Really looks impressive at both positions. Hes a big guy and is going to be a solid pro as well.

Steve Breaston 15 601.0 181 N/A WR -Looked good as both a return man and receiver. He had some amazing moves after the catch and was living up to his high billing. VERY POSITIVE

Adam Stenavich 79 605.0 317 5.1 OT -He was in and out of the game with injuries, but when he was in he looked good. N/A

Matt Lentz 67 606.0 305 5.1 C-Played RG, able to really pull out and smash down field. Big specimen with a tough attitude. POSITIVE

Tim Massaquoi 88 604.0 248 4.7 TE -Still used as the blocking TE. Shows up and dissapears at times. NEUTRAL

LaMarr Woodley 56 602.0 248 4.6 LB -Best player UM has. First round talent next year for sure. POSITIVE

Pat Massey 94 608.0 284 5.3 DT-looked good against NU offense that had onlly allowed 1 sack all year. Got some good penetration up the gut. Finally playing well. POSITIVE

Jake Long 607.0 338 N/A OT -Ddidnt see him much, I believe he was in and out with injury as well. NEUTRAL

Tyler Ecker 606.0 250 N/A TE-looking really good. He is very good after the catch and is excellent at stretching out for a few extra yards. He is your prototype UM TE with tons of potential. POSITIVE

Mark Bihl 54 604.0 301 N/A C -Seeing more time at center with the injuries on this team. Filling in well. NEUTRAL

Northwestern

Brett Basanez 14 602.0 210 4.9 QB -Did not play his game. He looked very impressive in the first half, but was shut down in the 2nd. I really like his upside and I think he will be a Volek type backup in the pros. NEUTRAL

Tim McGarigle 41 601.0 235 4.5 LB-One man wrecking crew. I love this guys attitude and on the field play. He is in on every play in one way or another. He has very quick reactions to the ball and play and is just a straight up lunchpail guy who comes to work. Rumored to run in the 4.5 range. POSITIVE

Zach Strief 63 607.0 335 5.2 OT -Big ole OT who until this game was really playing at a high level. He let too much get by him this game and disrupted the timing of the offense. NEGATIVE

ADD
Michigan
CB Leon Hall-Had some big plays and has filled in nicely for Marlin Jackson

LB Prescott Burgess-Playing like a man possesed, he is extremely active from the LB spot and making alot of plays.

Northwestern
Barry Cofiled DT-A tough, big defended. He shredded UMs line like it was a hot knife through butter. Could really jump up the charts if he runs well.

Mark Philmore WR-A big play guy. He dominiated this game in the first half. He would be at another school if he were taller and didnt have off the field problems. Looked alot like a number 9 from Oklahoma last year, Mark Clayton. Watch this guy.

What about CB Grant Mason, Adam?

He was the most active defender on the field in 2 of the 4 UM games I've seen this year.

Sweet! I'd love to see what kind of a 40 he runs, because he sure looks like a player to me!

Pierre Woods  99  605.0  248  N/A  LB -Been playing alot up and down. Really looks impressive at both positions. Hes a big guy and is going to be a solid pro as well.

Where does he belong in the position ranks? Is he projected as an OLB at the next level, or will his size dictate a move to ILB or even DE?

Basanez seems to be having a very good year but is flying well under the radar. What are your overall impressions of him (this particular game aside)?

Cofield is my sleeper pick at DT. I've seen him play a couple times and really liked him (maybe even better than Luis Castillo...!?). I think I read somewhere that he ran a sub 5.0 forty, though I don't know when that was or what the conditions were.

Woods-It depends on the team. I think hes just a big OLB, but some team may like his pass rush skills. Hes highly talented and could make a difference at either position. I say keep him at OLB for our purposes til we hear something different.

Basanez-I really like this kid. I liked him last year too. He is running a spread offense, so his stats are inflated a little bit. He is very accurate, poised, and smart. He can make plays out of the pocket and gives the receiver the ball where it needs to be. I really think he can be better than some of the backups in the league now. Hes only 6-2, which might scare some teams. Im not big on spread QBs, but I like Basanez' abilities to make the throws and make the play.

Cofiled-He is better than Luis Castillo. He has looked really good this year. Not flashy, but just gets the pressure needed. UMs line is damn good, and he just had his way with it. I think he should be toward the end of our pos ranks. Im gonna get him a profile this week.
