Maryland

LB D'Qwell Jackson-I have always been a big fan of Jackson and he again had a fantastic game. He was all over the field today on defense and special teams. Very sure tackler that always seems able to wrap up tackles. Had a huge block on special teams that had to feel good for a defensive player. I have never seen him have a bad game and I have seen Maryland about 5 times this year.-Positive

CB Gerrick McPhearson-McPhearson had a pretty good game today. Had some nice pass breakups on the day and almost had an interception in overtime. His speed is his greatest attribute but I wish he would play a little bit more physical with receivers.-Slightly positive

TE Vernon Davis-BEAST. That is the only way to describe Vernon Davis. The guy is an amazing physical specimen that produces on the football field. He caught 7 passes today for 139 yards and 1 touchdown. Besides Pope, Davis is the next best junior tightend without question.-Very positive

OT Stephon Heyer-DNP (next year when it is him and Gaither on the ends that will be an excellent line)

North Carolina

LB Larry Edwards-Edwards was a presence on the field today and made several very good tackles. I would really like to see him add some more weight to his frame but he is still a solid prospect.-Neutral

OG Kyle Ralph-Quiet day for Ralph today but for an OG that is usually pretty good. UNC did not have much of a ground game today but they were able to throw the ball effectively.-Neutral

S Kareen Taylor-A mixed bag today for Taylor. Whenever he wasn't responsible for Vernon Davis he was the best defensive player for the Tar Heels. However, when he was responsible for Davis he was absolutely manhandled. He needs to bulk up more to play at the next level but he has the technique and skill set to play.-Slightly positive

I think Davis could sneak into the late first with Pope if they both declare.

D'Qwell was not much of a factor against Va Tech this year, but I agree with you he has looked good almost every other time I have seen him play too over the past two years. Where do you prject him in the draft at this stage, Andrew?

Should I put Vernon in the top 100? Leonard is there.

I missed the Virginia Tech game but I have seen him against Clemson, Wake Forest, Virginia, Florida State, and then yesterday against North Carolina. In every one of those games he really performed well. He seems to have a very good control of his defense and knows where every single other player is supposed to be on the field. I would really like to see the Patriots go after him in the draft. I see him as a second rounder right now solely due to the large amount of very good linebackers in this year's draft.

I really don't think Davis will come out this year.
