Boston College

DE Mathias Kiwanuka-Mathias had one of the most dominating games I have ever seen out of a defensive end. He had 12 tackles on the day, 5 TFL, and 4.5 sacks (had one more called back due to a penalty). He just abused the State line all night long and made athletic play after athletic play. One of my favorites involved a straight speed rush. Stone the QB took off upfield and Mathias promptly took his blocker and threw him to the turf like a rag doll and chased after Stone. When Stone was about 4 yards upfield Kiwi did his best Superman impression leaping over a BC defender on the ground and yanked Stone to the ground for a short gain. The play displayed strength, awareness, speed, and agility all in one. There should not be a single scout that saw this game that would not take Mathias over Mario and wouldn't take Mathias in the top 3 picks of the draft. Simply an amazing performance by one of the top players in college football.-VERY Positive

WR/CB Will Blackmon-I would rank this as Blackmon's best game of his career as a WR. Although he only had 3 catches in the game those 3 catches were for over 150 yards. Blackmon dsiplayed his great agility and strength on several plays and on one play in particular his heart and determination.-Positive

OT Jeremy Trueblood-Who said the NC State defensive ends were good because Trueblood wants to know who was lying to him? Trueblood shut his man down all night long. Not his best performance on the year but just another solid performance against top competition that he won.-Positive

C Pat Ross-Another very good game for Ross handling the tough NC State defensive line. Seemed very comfortable with Matt Ryan at QB.-slightly positive

NC State

DE/LB Manny Lawson-Had a much better night than Williams but still was not much of a force. Had a couple of nice plays were he was able to show his excellent speed but other than that he didn't do much. I would really like to see him as an OLB at the next level that rushes the passer roughly 50% of the time-Neutral

CB Marcus Hudson-A very neutral game for Hudson. Had some good plays and had some not so good plays. Nothing too bad or too good though.-Neutral

DE Mario Williams-Where was he? That is the question all the scouts are going to be asking tonight. Part of his problem tonight is the sheer size of the BC line. They are by far the biggest line in the ACC and they were able to neutralize Williams bull rush. He is used to be roughly the same size as the tackle but tonight he was the smaller of the two players. Not a good game to not show up for considering Mathias was able to put on a clinic when he was on the field.-Slightly negative

OT Derek Morris-Derek Morris is not a big fan of Mathias Kiwanuka after tonight. He was simply blown out of the water tonight. Mathias was able to beat up with speed rushes, bull rushes, spin moves, and pretty much whatever he felt like. Not a good night for Morris.-Negative

TE T.J. Williams-The lone bright spot for the Wolfpack tonight. He had 5 catches for 67 yards and whenever he got the ball it took about 3 or 4 guys to bring him down. A very solid tightend that excels in all phases of the game.-Positive

Wow!! I am glad my feelings are confirmed about these two DEs. Mario needs to go back to college...I've been saying it for weeks. You agree, Andrew?

Top 3 for Kiwi is what I have always felt would happen in the end too. He is just too much of a physical specimen to go much lower than that, and then he has a game like this once in awhile just to tease NFL scouts into realizing what he very well might become at the next level.

Anything at all from Ricky Brown in this one? Was Porter benched for the whole game?

I would agree that Mario should stay one more year simply because of Mathias not because of his skill level. By coming out next year Mario could very easily be the number one defensive end. However, this year it is quite established that Mathias is the number one defensive end so Mario would lose some dough to him.

Brown had a pretty good game. Had about 6 or 7 tackles on the night. Still unsure about what to do with him though. He is very sorely lacking in the athletic department but his production is pretty good. A guy that is better than him is his teammate Ricky Brown.

Quinton Porter was indeed benched for the entire game and you could just feel the difference. Ryan threw the ball away on 3 or 4 occasions and I just knew that if Porter were back there he would have tried to force one of those balls and had it intercepted. Once BC got rolling the only thing that could have derailed them would have been a turnover but Ryan did a good job of holding onto the ball.

Well my hats off to you, you sure called this one right. Kiwi is clearly the best DE in the draft. The debate is over.

I love Henderson. He's as blue-collar a football player as you'll find. He just gets the job done and never asks for the glory. He'll wind up playing at the next level in my opinion.
