...but star junior linebacker H.B. Blades went down for Pitt in the first defensive series (after having 3 tackles already on the first 6 plays) and WVU was able to roll on the ground from then on. West Virginia racked up over 400 total rushing yards, including 220 and 2 TDs by QB Pat White, and Pitt was never able to overcome the loss of Blades. I got the distinct feeling that this would have been a MUCH closer game, and perhaps even a Pitt upset had Blades not been injured as the Pitt offense was pretty solid. WR Greg Lee had a huge redemption game, catching nearly everything thrown his way, and recording 6-142-23.7-2.

Bernard Lay 12 601.8 195 4.60 CB 2006: Josh is looking better in the second half of the season and that trend continued tonight. He was involved in a couple solos, a couple of assists and had a nice pick. He is a solid 5-6th round safety/nickle back at the next level, IMHO, although I don't see him having the total package to remain at corner. SLIGHTLY POSITIVE
Greg Lee 86 602.0 198 4.50 WR 2007: Greg's overall best game of the year. Got open well, caught everything with his hands, ran pretty well after the catch. he showed that he is still a borderline first-day guy if he does in fact declare, as he told Adam Davis he was planning to do. POSITIVE
Erik Gill 45 604.5 270 4.81 TE 2006: One of Erik's more active games. Caught three or four balls, blocked with more authority than I have seen in other games this year, and leaves with a good impression. He could be drafted, but will definitely be a UDFA at minimum. SLIGHTLY POSITIVE
H.B. Blades 51 511.0 244 4.61 LB 2007: Inc...injured knee early and did not return.
Charles Spencer 56 604.7 330 5.50 OT 2006: I AM SOLD. WHERE DO I SIGN?? I do not see a better LOT in the draft this year. He would not be a reach--IMHO--after the mid first round. He just gets out in space and does not get beaten on the rush by ANYBODY. He also punches very well, pulls very well, and hits his target when pulling. He has the size I personally covet at tackle even though he is not the Pat's style 300-pounder. VERY POSITIVE
Tyler Palko 3 602.0 220 4.75 QB 2007: Tyler is Pittsburgh tough...no doubt about that. At one point where the game was still in reach in the 3rd quarter he was 16 of 22 for 201 yards and 2 TDS. He threw two late picks trying to work a miracle, but he is strong, throws a catchable ball, and is a GENERAL out there. He will be a first-day QB next year FOR SURE. POSITIVE
Adam Graessle 0.0 N/A P 2007: INC...forgot to pay attention to him, sorry. It's been that kind of week...

Jahmile Addae 4 511.8 205 4.49 S 2006: Jahmile has not turned out to be the dominant force I thought he might be heading into the season. He is more athletic than Lorello, but Lorello is a better football player at this stage. He was better tonight than during other games I have seen this year though, with a couple tackles, a fumble recovery and a back-breaking Int-TD run. SLIGHTLY POSITIVE
Mike Lorello 23 601.0 200 4.62 S 2006: He is one of those guys that you look at on the sidelines and say "so?"...then he gets into the football game and just makes plays...everywhere...anywhere. I would draft him in the 6th and let him learn behind my starting SS for a couple of years WITHOUT HESITATION. POSITIVE
Dan Mozes 603.0 290 N/A OG 2007: He fires off the ball and engages quicker than most other centers I have seen this year. He needs to add a few pounds of muscle to be more of a destroyer in the running game, but he appears to have top technique and knows how to do what is asked of him. The question I will have next year is, will they be asking too much? SLIGHTLY POSITIVE
