Nebraska was pretty much in control of this game from the start. CU was favored in this game for the first time in over a decade, but they made the least of it. For the second straight year all CU needed to do was win and they were in the Big 12 Title game, and for the second straight year they lost. However for the second straight year, their friends from Iowa St. lost in overtime on a fg to put CU back in the game. They now need to overcame a heartbreaking loss and begin to prepare for Texas, a more daunting task than Texas itself.
Colorado's PP's:
Joe Klopfenstein- I was expecting to see more from him however he only had 3 catches for 26 yards, part of it was from bad QB play and also contant Nebraska pressure. He was good in blocking however: negative
Joe Klatt- Was 20-40 for 159 yards and 1 INT. He was under contant pressure from the front four and ended up getting sacked 4 times. He never seemed to look comfortable: negative
Brian Iwuh- Finished with 7 tackles and 1 sack, provided some nice pressure throughout the day: positive
Lawrence Vickers- Was doing a nice job blocking for Hugh Charles before CU had to give up on the running game, he will make a good FB at the next level: positive
John Torp- Had a 47.4 yard average on his punts with 3 inside the 20. I think it's safe to say he's the best punter prospect: very positive
Others:
Mason Crosby- Sank one from 33 yards and missed a 57 yarder. He's still a great kicker prospect: slightly positive
Nebraska PP's:
Matt Herian- Did not play
Cory Ross- Was rarely used, finished with just 7 carries for 14 yards: negative
LeKevin Smith- Is a bohemiath of a man, finished with 2 tackles and a sack, is just brutal against opposing olinemen: positive
Daniel Bullocks- Finished with 4 tackles, was great againt the run, and when he dropped back into coverage he wasn't half bad either: positive
Titus Adams- Ended up with a sack and a tackle, he wasn't spectacular but was still very solid: slightly positive
Seppo Evwaraye- Did not play
CU not gets the honor to lose to Texas this Saturday, however CU fans, it was only a few years ago when CU upsetted Chris Simms and the Lonhorns in this very game.
