The buzz throughout the town was well warranted, UCLA was going to end their 6 game slide against their archrivals, and knock USC out of the Rose Bowl. At least that's what any UCLA fan would've drawn up. However, that's not the way things went. Unlike last year, USC was ready for UCLA. They did not underestimate the team, and the result was a thrashing of the Bruins. This game was not even close at any point in the game. UCLA goes from undefeated to Sun Bowl participants in just one month, after a pounding from both Arizona and USC. On the other side of the town, USC goes to their 2nd straight title game, and a chance at 3 straight national titles.

USC PP's:

Matt Leinart- Finished with an aweful game for his standards. 21-40 for 233 yards with 3 TD's. Started the day very slow as the wind seemed to take his passes high. He was able to slow down and throw 3 TD passes, but the run set all this up: slightly positive

Scott Ware- had a pretty good day, 4 tackles, but looked good in coverage and somewhat good in run support: positive

Tom Malone- Had the pleasure of sitting on the sidelines...the entire game: incomplete

Taitusi Lutui- Looked very good, granted it was a very weak UCLA dline, but I was very impressed with the way he sustained his blocks: positive

Dallas Sartz- did not play

Frostee Rucker- Had a sack and a TFL, was double teamed all day which led openings for Lawrence Jackson who was opposite him: positive

Dominique Byrd- After a horrible performance last game I saw him in, he turned it around in this one. Finished with 6 catches for 56 yards. He looked a lot better catching the ball, consistently finding the hole in UCLA's coverage: positive

Justin Wyatt- Had one fumble recovery that he took back to the house, but other than that was very quiet: slightly positive

Reggie Bush- Mr. Heisman had 230 yards rushing...by halftime. He finished with a total of 256 yards and 2 TD's. He will win heisman and will be taken #1 overall: very positive

UCLA PP's:

Spencer Havner- UCLA's emotional leader had a bit of a letdown Saturday. He overpursued the RB which led to big gains for USC. Tough last game for Spencer, but you can't take away from what he did this entire year: negative

Marcedes Lewis- Was UCLA's leading receiver with 3 catches for 30 yards but was never open, can't blame it on him though: slightly negative

Jarrad Page- The one positive note for UCLA, he had some big hits, and was a sure tackler. If everyone played like him on Saturday, UCLA may have been in the game: positive

Justin London- Did not start but played and had 3 tackles, was very quiet and still might be a little hurt: negative

Drew Olsen- Had a DREADFUL day, completed only 14 of his 32 attempts for 146 yards and 1 TD. He was sacked 5 times and was under pressre on nearly every play. His play is what brought the offense down the entire day, but the full blame can be brought on the offensive line: negative

Mike McCloskey- did not play

USC completes it's 7th straight win over the Bruins. They stick it to the Bruins and send them to the Sun Bowl. USC now has a month to prepare for Vince Young and the Longhorns.
