BF, and any other Broncos fans...

I've heard a LOT of noise about a potential John Abraham for 29th overall trade...

What are your feelings about this deal, and do you think it will get done? Many Jets fans are claiming that it was a done deal before the CBA stuff happened, so they had to focus on Pennington (which they did), and since that time they have been looking for BETTER offers (one rumor was the Lions trading down from 9 for Abe, one was the Falcons trading 15 for Abe *maybe with other throw-ins in these deals*).

I personally would not give up anything more than a late 2nd for Abe, considering his history of injury and character issues...

And if this deal doesn't go down, what do you Broncos fans feel about trading up- maybe up to 6 for a shot at Mario Williams (assuming GB takes A.J. Hawk)?

And quickly- HB is a need now, no? Besides Tatum Bell and Ron Dayne, they should get someone else, right? 2nd round maybe? 1st?

Rumor Central on espn.com has Atlanta considering a trade for Abraham.

I think Denver should really consider trading up and drafting Vernon Davis, the guys a beast and would make them forget about Sharpe

If they trade both 1st rounders and a later pick for John Abraham and the Jets 4th overall pick the Broncos would be great adding Davis and Abraham and the Jets could get some quality help with Denver's picks like a DE to replace Abraham and get help at another postiion.

Both 1st rounders and a later pick for the Jets 4th overall pick...AND Abraham? What a deal...for the BRONCOS. If the Jets make that deal...they should fire their GM right afterwards.

That would be an awesome trade for Denver.

Abraham for #29 was almost a done deal before the CBA stuff but now Atlanta is supposively offering their #15 so I doubt Abraham ends up a Bronco. The Broncos really need to focus on RB, DE, and TE for right now. Hopefully we'll be able to add Jamal Lewis, and take care of TE and DE in the first round.

The Jets need more than just a top 10 pick especially if Abraham is out the door and honestly they probably are going to get a 2nd rounder for him.

I'll take the 4th pick in the draft, and a 2nd rounder, instead of giving up both Abraham, and the 4th pick for Denver's 2 1st rounders. That would be a stupid deal. The true "value" of the 4th overall pick...especially since there's a good chance Brick will be there, is substantially more than the "value" of the two 1st round picks Denver owns. Plus, and here's the kicker...you want the Jets to include Abraham! I'm sorry, but that has to be the most ridiculous idea for a trade I've heard in some time, and I'm not even a Jet's fan. Here's the scoop, PimpDaddy, so you know what I'm talking about, and where I'm coming from.

NFL teams all use a variation of a "Draft Value Chart"...I copied the one from nfl.com last year...I don't know if it's still there or not. What the chart does, is assign a "point value" on every single pick in the draft, from the 1st pick in the 1st round, all the way down to the last pick in the 7th round (pick #224). If you make a deal, you want to get a similar "point value" back in return. According to the chart I got from the NFL web-site, the 4th pick of the 1st round in the draft, which belongs to the Jets, is worth 1800 points. Here's what Denver's two picks in the 1st round are worth according to this chart. The 22nd they received from Washington, is worth 780 points...and their own pick, the 29th, is worth 640 points. That equals 1420 points, PimpDaddy...and you still want Abraham? I understand he gets hurt, and might have some other issues, but you've already ripped me off for 380 points, which just happens to be the value of the 20th pick in the 2nd round (52nd overall), and no matter what else, when he's healthy, he's still one of the better pass rushers in the NFL. That, is why I say this is a stupid trade. In other words, point wise, I'd be way better off keeping the 4th pick, and trading Abraham even up for a 2nd rounder, especially one in the top 5-10 of the 2nd round, versus going with trade scenario with Dever that's posted here. The Jets will probably get a pick inside the 1st 20, and perhaps another player, or a later draft pick, like a 4th or 5th for him. Pass rushers of his caliber, even with his issues, just don't grow on trees.
