didn't see this posted yet and I saw it on ESPN news and on NFL network hours ago. he got a deal worth 10 millon dollars I believe. this is a great signing for Seattle, I felt that they were missing a playmaker on defense and he is a big playmaker. Seattle is the #1 team in the NFL now in my opinion

It's a great signing, assuming he can stay healthy.

LeRoy Hill--Lofa Tatupu--Julian Peterson

Considering how bad the LB corps has been prior to this year, this is just wow.

The NFC West is starting to get alot better. I don't see them being the worst conference in the NFL anymore. The Seahawks attended the Superbowl and added Julian Peterson, the Rams renewed the defence by bringing in three key componets plus all their players are healthy, the Cards added Edge. As for the 49ers, well.....nevermind.

lol, we signed Antonio Bryant!

Actually...as far as the 49ers go...we have done nothing, and with another LB gone I have a really good feeling that we might be considering giving up next years 2nd rounder in the supplemental draft to grab MLB Ahmad Brooks *move Ulbrich to OLB and draft another OLB and have Smith and Brooks play inside*.

I was a big backer in Ahmad but of course he decided to stay and his problems at UVA have basically put him in a positoin where he almost wants to declare for the supplemental draft. I see no reason why we dont grab him. He will be the BEST LB ever to play this game if he can get his head straight and into the game. The kid has it all. Strength, size, speed, height, the works. Great foot work and pass coverage, great bull rush and moves to get to the QB, great nose for the ball as well as speed. HE IS A STUD and whoever drafts him this year or next will definetley be happy to have him...

Well, from what I've heard about Ahmad...hey...just how far away are you guys from Humbolt County?

Seahawks wasted a lot of money on Peterson and Burleson.

The Burleson contract is NOT what Seattle will pay him. That's what the Vikings would if they match (poison pills). Burleson's contract will be around 5 million in guaranteed money. A good deal for a no.2/no.3 WR...

I agree about Burleson and I know he will never see 49 million, I was talking more about Peterson. He has had one very good season, major injury, and they spent a lot of money on him. Sort of the same situation in Atlanta with Abraham.

I agree it is a hefty contract for a player who's had some injury issues...

But there is a gigantic reward along with the risk, and if he can stay on the field, the money is probably well-worth it...

Injuries happen to anyone and everyone, and I like taking the chance- Peterson can be a special player...

A year ago at this time the Seahawks were looking at Niko Koutavides and Jamie Sharper as possible leaders of what they hoped to be a re-surged LB corps... Now a year later they seem as strong as any 4-3 team in the NFL, with three completely new guys... Spit out some other talented young groups- but I'd guess that LeRoy Hill, Lofa Tatupu and Julian Peterson can match up with any 4-3 group in the league... it's exciting...
