The question going into this game was would Oregon rebound from their loss at Cal last week to defeat the UCLA? The answer is yes. The Ducks (5-1, 3-1) defeated the Bruins (4-2, 2-2) at home, 30-20.

College: Oregon Conference: Pacific 10 Columnist: Sam Maxwell

Dennis Dixon 10 6' 4.0" 196 0.00 QB 2008
I could be way off here, but I think he's got a good chance to make it. And it may be somewhere other than at the QB position. Athletic. Smart. Patient in the pocket. Game stats: (Pa) 10-of-17, 144 yards, 2 TD, (Ru) 11 carries for 69 yards.

James Finley 18 6' 2.0" 204 0.00 WR 2007
Quiet day. Didn't see enough to make a good assessment. Game stats: 1 catch, 4 yards, TD.

Enoka Lucas 55 6' 4.0" 299 0.00 C 2007
A load. Good run blocker. Strong. Moves well for a player his size.

J.D. Nelson 28 5' 11.0" 219 4.50 S 2007
Runs well to the ball. Not afraid to come up and hit. Quick. Good open-field tackler. Game stats: 7 tackles, 1 tackle for loss, 1 sack.

How was Ben Olson's backup?

I'm curious as to why you picked this game also.. Seeing that its a Pac10 conference game..

I thought Patrick Cowan played well. I don't have anything to compare him to because I never saw Olson play. I'm sure that UCLA doesn't mind having 2 RS Sophomores as QBs.

I chose this game because I wanted to watch a Pac-10 game in its entirety and critique it. No one else took it, so I figured why not? Not to mention our cable provider doesn't give us much of a selection.

Good writeup, Bill. I'm hearing quite a few good things about J.D. Do you think he may be under-rated? Sure has solid measurables for the next level also.

What did you think of Matt Toeaina and Darius Sanders on the D-line? Are they legit prospects who should be in the database?

Also, what were your impressions of the Oregon WR corps? Who looked like they could play at the next level?

It's good to see that Oregon could come back after losing to Cal.

Paysinger had a big day for the Oregon WR's, but usually it's Williams and/or Finley that make the noise.
