The old maxim holds true, defense wins games. This game showcased star JR LB Dan Connor and the PSU defense. This wasnt especially interesting, but this game was to get bowl eligible, which the Lions are.

Continues to look good. Had a little tougher of a game today, with Anthony Spencer but for the most part looked good. Love his stiff arms and strength. SLIGHTLY POSITIVE

Dorien Bryant 9 5' 10.0" 175 4.40 WR 2007
Did not open up the seams like he usually does. Didnt show the breakaway speed we are used to as well. I had him down for 5 grabs. Not a lot of yards. NEGATIVE

Kyle Ingraham 89 6' 9.0" 228 4.70 WR 2007 -DNP Academically ineligible.

Anthony Spencer 49 6' 3.0" 261 4.70 DE 2007
Looked like a true pass rusher in this game. Was all over the field and had 2.5 TFLs. He gets eaten up by bigger tackles, and dominates the smaller ones. Looks impressive and I think will still be moved to LB.
POSITIVE

Paul Posluszny 31 6' 1.5" 230 4.70 LB 2007
Is returning to last seasons form. Needed no help making tackles. Showing the range we fell in love with last year. Just excellent at stopping the run and looks good against the pass
POSITIVE

Levi Brown 67 6' 4.5" 328 5.25 OT 2007
Continues to mash up the line. Made some nice holes for the running game and Tony Hunt. Gives Morelli the time he needs to succeed. Not as good as Sam Baker, but in that mix. POSITIVE

Tony Hunt 26 6' 2.0" 219 4.60 HB 2007
Continually getting better. Accouting for about 170 total yards, and looked great doing it. Showing some breakaway speed. Climbing up the boards.
POSITIVE

Jay Alford 13 6' 3.0" 288 5.05 DT 2007
Had 2 sacks. Really looked good. Didnt quit on any plays and got pressure up the gut and never let Purdue get the ball off when they wanted. Another guy who is seriously climbing. VERY POSITIVE

Dan Connor 40 6' 3.0" 220 4.70 LB 2008
Star of the game. Earned Big 10 Defensive Player of the week. Had an interception and 12 tackles. One of the best run stoppers in the country. I think he is finally out of the shadow of Poz and is making a statement that he is the best LB on this team. He is playing better than Poz this year. VERY POSITIVE

Tim Shaw 20 6' 1.0" 233 4.70 LB 2007
Im not that big on him. Played okay but its tough to make play when Poz and Connor are your teammates. Just a blah game for him.
NEUTRAL
