The Bruins took the early lead then recaptured it right before half time, making the score 15-14. However, outta the gates in the 2nd, it was ALL Cougars. UCLA did not score another point on its way to suffering its 4th defeat of the year. Washington St proved that the win over Oregon was not a fluke as the dominated the Bruins on offense in this game. The Bruin secondary had no answer for the passing attack of the Cougars. For UCLA, this was their 3rd loss in a row, and things do not get any easier. They travel to Berkeley to take on the #10 Golden Bears, and still have their annual rivalry date with USC to go. Bowl chances are looking bleak in Westwood.

UCLA PP's:

Justin Medlock, K, UCLA- He went 3 for 3 on field goals for the Bruins: A

Ben Olson, QB, UCLA- DNP

Joe Cowan, WR, UCLA- DNP

Washington St. PP's:

Alex Brink, QB, Washington St.- After he fixed the problem of too much perspiration on his hands, Alex was awesome. He was a field general out there and ended up passing for 405 yards on only 28 completions. He found Hill and Gibson all day long for big plays and spread the ball around very nicely: A

Jason Hill, WR, Washington St.- Jason got open on nearly every play, made big catches downfield, and led his team in receiving yards. What else is new? He was again proved that he is the Pac-10's best downfield threat: A

Mkristo Bruce, DE, Washington St.- Didn't have a 3 sack day, as the UCLA line did a relatively good job of keeping Cowan off the turf, but did get some nice pressure and absolutely shut down the run: B+

Washington St moved to #25 on the AP Bowl with the win, making the Pac-10 have 4 teams.

What happened to Olsen and Cowan?

How were Medlock's kickoffs?

How did Dennis Keyes look?

(Sam, try to give us a bit more detail from a scouting angle, not just a summary of what a guy did. Like...what were the strengths and weaknesses in Brink's game? How was his delivery, arm angle, poise, pocket presence, scrambling ability, reads, arm strength, etc. Did he struggle with certain throws? Was he more accurate to certain areas of the field, or with certain throws?...stuff like that...You know what I mean?)

He probably didn't get alot of sacks on the day because he was playing in a 3-4 defense at the DE position. If he did as well as you said then this will probably add to his draft stock.

Ya Bruce isn't gonna be racking them up as much the rest of the season because WSU has depth issues on the dline and therefore will continue to employ the 3-4.

Brink like I said struggled early on with perspiration on his hand, but then he was on. He excelled in throwing the long ball and found his playmakers at exactly the right time. He has a very forward delivery a quick release. His balls do have a tendency at time to hang in there too long however. He is a very smart quarterback, knowing when to throw the ball away.

Cowan and Olson are out for the year with knee and shoulder injuries respectively.

Medlock's kickoffs consistently landed right about on the 7 yard line. He had one touchback.

Dennis Keyes finished with 8 total tackles, 7 solo. He needs to work on coverage but looks to be a pro prospect, I will write him up for sure.

Kevin Brown(DT UCLA) also deserves a writeup, he finished with 2 tackles, 1 TFL.

Thanks, Sam! I appreciate all the additional info.

Scratch that Olson is out for the year. He is looking to come back Nov. 11th against Oregon St.
