The Cajuns were up 14-0 early, but they just couldn't contain one of the fastest running QBs in the country on defense (#17 Haugabrook) or a rising star at HB (#22 Kenny Cattouse--the all time NJ HS rushing leader.)
Not a whole lote of talent here, but those two underclassmen will play at the next level some day--though Haugabrook will have to convert.
SCOUTING SUMMARY:
College: Troy State Conference: Sunbelt Columnist: Mark Jones
Name # Ht Wt Speed Pos Class Game Notes
Brannon Condren 28 6' 0.5" 205 4.68 S 2007: A hard-nosed, run support safety, who is listed as a FS, but is always coming up to support the run (?). Wraps well. Very productive (always sad when your safety is leading the team in tackles though) and he has a flair for the big play. Did not get a chance to evaluate his coverage, because he was just not thrown at. GRADE: Neutral
College: UL-Lafayette Conference: Sunbelt Columnist: Mark Jones
Name # Ht Wt Speed Pos Class Game Notes
Jerry Babb 15 6' 2.5" 225 4.90 QB 2007: Not a shot at being drafted, but might play for somebody--starting with AF2 if he is willing. Decent size. Runs the team well. Doesn't have any wow factor. Arm is average, reads are good. Has subpar receivers, so he is probably better than he has been able to look this year. GRADE: Neutral
Brandon* Cox 72 6' 6.6" 327 5.40 OT 2007: Brandon is the other Brandon Cox (Auburn QB) and thus the * after his first name. He is a classic ROT. Stones rushers. Misses, but hunts up another guy to hit when he does. Shows a willingness to make the extra effort to get to where he is supposed to be. Reaches the LDE very well, and quickly spins himself into position to make an inside lane off his inside. I bet a third of LA-Lafayette's running plays went right inside just such a block. Huge wingspan with room to add strength and mass. May be topped out right now athletically-speaking, however. As solid a true ROT as I have scouted this season. May have some slight stamina questions. Showed little pulling speed, nor was he asked to pull. GRADE: Positive
Note: Troy's Jr. CB #34 MvElvin will be drafted next year. Solid return man. Big corner.
Mark: None of these PPs entries are finished. No links, no birthdates and no stats...when you get a chance...TIA!
