The battle of the bands at halftime was more entertaining than the ball game, to be honest, but there are a couple of pro prospects in this game. I have been following Tuskegee QB Kevin Huff's career for three years, but this is the first time I've gotten a good long look at him. Sadly, he just doesn't have a pro position, though he is a terrific DII athlete. Arkansas transfer Michael Coe was the best PP on the field.

Kevin Huff 4 6' 1.1" 217 4.73 QB 2007: A deadly dual threat option QB who really gets it done with his legs. An outstanding, slippery athlete at this level who is very difficult to bring down. If the 4.73 is accurate, he just doesn't have pro potential, unfortunately. He would transition to RB pretty well because of his size and toughness if he were 4.53 instead of 4.73. He is a bit of a hot head too. Flings the ball. Is pretty accurate with the secondaries he is facing now, but there is no way his QB style translates well at the next level unless I am horribly mistaken (and it wouldn't be the first time). Threw 2 TD passes (one called back) and ran for another. Threw two bad picks. He definitely belongs in our ATH ratings, Jeff. GRADE (for performance, not projection): Positive

Michael Coe 19 6' 1.0" 190 4.50 S 2007: Coe first caught my eye two years ago at Arkansas. I am very impressed with his intelligence and football smarts. He puts himself in the right place at the right time CONSTANTLY. Knows how to disguise his coverages and breaks very quickly on the ball. Good hands. Good leaping ability. Steady in run support. Very good punt returner which really helps. Brings a lot to the table. Needs to add muscle mass, but he has the rest of the package. Looks like a solid 6th rounder to me. GRADE: Positive

Desmond Foster 24 5' 9.5" 180 4.50 S 2007: Plays rover, but projects to corner. Very good kickoff returner who averages 26+. I really would like to see him in a game as a one-on-one cover corner, but we ain't going to get that chance. GRADE: Neutral

Other notes:

Tuskegee has nobody else worth looking at, and they were definitely the less-talented team with the exception of Huff who IS their offense. Alabama State has a couple of other marginal guys in 6'3", 230 WR Brandon Horace, 5'10", 177 receiver James Earl Cray, and 6'2", 295 DT Markel McKinley.
