Who do you think the Chiefs will draft in the first 3 Rounds?

What team will end up with Trent Green and what compensation will we get?

A receiver, OT, LB, or corner? Aren't those the biggest needs?

As for Trent Green, I think a 3rd rounder from Miami or Cleveland should do it...

Wow, the chiefs trade Dante Hall to the Rams and are supposedly shopping Larry Johnson. What is going on with this team?

Could the Chiefs win this division?
QuietStorm
The Chiefs won't win the division, and I still see them coming in 3rd place. But, they are finding ways to win. The games aren't pretty, but they are finding ways to compete. Believe it or not, I think getting Priest Holmes back will be very big for this team. It'll be interesting if they try to get them both (LJ and Priest) on the field at the same time, because they could open things up for Gonzo and Bowe down field and in the middle. The defense has been solid and continues to progress under Herm Edwards, unlike previous years. If they can balance out the offense they'll be in better shape, but I still can't see them winning the division.

This team has snuck up on people BUT you still have Herm Edwards at the helm. One consolation is that he knows how to get his meal ticket just enough touches to win--And he has more weapons in KC than in New York and the Jets were consistently in the playoffs while he was head coach--BUT to answer your question---I have them going 9-7 in a three way tie for the final playoff position with Tennessee and Cleveland. I think you would have to flip a coin but it would be my estimation that KC will have the best conference record of the three teams and thus in the playoffs. If they can beat both San Diego and Denver at Home then the Division is theirs--hands down--thanks for listening--rich from newport

Personally, I dont think the Chiefs win their division, but I reckon they'll be second and in with a chance at a wildcard. I think that the Chargers will go on a bit of a run now and win this division. The Broncos are too inconsistent to make a real challenge this year.

To win, the Chiefs would need to beat the Chargers, and I just cant see it happening.

Wow Kolby Smith is gonna be startin. Looks like we are gonna get a earlier pick than we shud. Wes hould be sick next year. For the first round, I think we'll have a low enough pick to take Sam Baker. In the second, we could get a corner like Terrell Thomas or Reggie Smith or DeJuan Tribble cuz one of them are gonna fall to the second round. In the third I'd go receiver. With Croyle, he needs more options then just Gonzo and Bowe. A good third round pick like Keenan Burton out of Kentucky or Paul Hubbard out of Wisconsin or Donnie Avery out of Houston would be great. Donnie Avery is the pick if he falls because of his excellent speed and kick return ability, although Burton can do that too.
so thats
1. Sam Baker OT USC
2. Reggie Smith CB, Oklahoma
3. Donnie Avery WR, Houston

or it could go like this
1. Malcolm Jenkins CB, Ohio State
2. Michael Oher OG, Mississippi
3. Donnie Avery WR, Houston

now that I think about it, that second one might be better

Demorrio Williams is an under-rated LB who will fit in nicely in KC's defense. Their LB corps is very strong now with him, Harris, Johnson, and Edwards. Perhaps one more for depth in the draft once they select some OL, and the Chiefs could be back sooner than later. I'd still try to trade your RB to get some more picks, or OL, or DBs...so long as he's there, it's more likely you finish 8-8, or thereabouts next year. Getting some picks for him would allow you to hasten your rebuilding process, along with finishing with a more realistic record to get that one more top 10 pick that could put you right back in the playoff picture. You can always get a good all around back in the draft this year or next. Johnson is really a one dimensional back anyhow, and with your QB you'd be way better off with a back who could also catch, IMO. This board needed a post anyhow.

Chiefs are asking for offers for Jared Allen.

I heard that as well on the NFL Network. I heard that the Viks have offered this years 1st and 3rd for Allen but KC wants a 1st and a 2nd.

I thought a late 1st would be a good investment on this guy. The Vikes, at 17 is a little higher than I thought they'd get, but still not too bad a risk for the potential return.

And, if in fact they offered a 1st and one of their two 3rds, I'd jump on that if I were KC.

The reason they're trading him is they don't want to invest as much money as his stature as a player has taken him now demands. He is, however, one strike from being suspended for a very long time. This is also inherently the risk the team that deals for him must take, and if the Chiefs don't understand this, they may be left holding the bag.

If he were not such a risk they undoubtedly would get a higher return, or more likely would have already made him one of the richest DEs in the league. But there is a risk, and it's a huge risk to the receiving team because they are going to give him a big contract with a big signing bonus. The Chiefs must be willing to take a fair offer considering they themselves are unwilling to take the risk involved over the long haul on him. They are very lucky, if this offer is accurate, that someone is willing to give up this much, IMO.

The Chiefs received 3 picks in this year's draft from the Vikes for DE Allen. Minnesota's 1st, and both 3rds. The Chiefs now have 13 picks in this year's draft, including 5 picks in the first 82, and 6 in the first 100.

The Vikes kinda got over a little bit. They are taking a chance since he is a few Pabst Blue Ribbons away from a year suspension. Also they opened up the vault.
KC gets draft picks which will help them rebuild. 13 picks is too many and they better be working the phones moving up in some of those rounds.
In all, it works out pretty well for both. KC got what they could and got some nice picks, but the guys who leads the NFL in sacks don't come on the market very often. Basically, never.

Would the Chiefs like to trade for Pick 29 in the 1st?

I'm sure the Niners would like to make a trade, maybe 9ers pick 29 and 174, for Chiefs picks 66, 73, 82 and 210..

Any thoughts on that? I'm just trying to see where the Chiefs Fans are at, regarding a trade...

Ok, dormit Kc fans. What do you say about the report in the KC star by your head sports collumist that says that so far, Dorsey has been a bust. He has no sacks this year. And the KC run defense is the worst in the league by giving up over 6 yards a carry. This to me if he got drafted by the rams would be a HUGE concern. If i had to choose a bust among the top five, it wouldnt be Dorsey, he seems like a real workout guy with great talent and a bright future.

Glad the rams chose Long over Dorsey.

By the end of their Careers you will wish you had Dorsey Ramsdraft. Shoot you should have drafted Ryan Clady 2nd
