Southern Illinois fell behind early by ten points but, chipped away at the lead to finally go ahead for good in the 4th quarter and win 24-17.

Tom Zetts 24 6'1.0" 210 4.75 QB 2008
A fine DIAA QB. However, I don't see him as a pro prospect. He looks small and probably isn't the listed heigth. He was 19 of 32 for 164 yards. He had one interception and a fumble. Likes to run with the ball and was 12 for 49 yards. Has good leadership skills and a good arm. Grade: Neutral
Mychal Savage 96 6'2.0" 290 5.20E DT 2008
Didn't do anything of note. Pushed the pocket a few times but, wasn't a factor. Grade: Negative
James Terry 56 6'2.0" 225 4.75E LB 2008
Like Mychal Savage, Terry was basically MIA during the entire game and didn't do anything to stand out. Grade: Negative

Nick Hill 15 6'3.0" 210 4.75E QB 2008
A second year starter who is really developing into a nice prospect. Accurate and has a plus arm. He's racked up mind blowing stats so far against some low level teams. Against YSU he was 13 for 20 for 165 yards with a TD and an INT. Scrambles and is elusive and runs hard when he gets out of the pocket. Is very accurate as he threw his first interception of the year when he made a poor read. Lefthanded former basketball player who is still developing. Grade: Positive
Craig Turner 2 5'10.0" 195 4.45E CB 2008
Strong athlete who is still developing as a CB as he has been moved around a lot. Also a solid KR. Turner fumbled the opening kick which led to a YSU TD. Held his own in coverage as he was mathced up against YSU Ferlando Williams and held him to 7 catches for 43 yards. Mostly just short outs were all he gave up. Turner got called for holding and missed a tackle but, had a big TFL on a late YSU drive. SIU doesn't play a great deal of man, mostly zone, so that remains a question. Grade: Neutral
Game Notes: Jr. Ferlando Williams looks like a David Palmer of Alabama for those of you who remember him. WR who takes a lot of snaps at QB to take advantage of his athleticism. He had 15/87 rushing and 7/43 receiving....John Randle had a nice day for SIU. The Kansas transfer had 16/123 rushing and a TD. I'll be keeping an eye on Randle and Williams.
