NT runs a spread to throw out of and LL runs a spread to run out of as a downpour put down a muddy track for these two teams. LL runs an absolute breakneck pace as the try to snap the ball on offense as soon as it is set. This eventually took it's toll on NT. LL got the win in a 38-29 win.

Jamario Thomas 20 5'11.0" 210 4.4E RB 2008
Sometimes when a new coach comes in the system really doesn't fit a certain star player. I get that feeling with Jamario. The system Todd Dodge has brought in is the spread that is throwing based. Jamario didn't look comfortable in this system. He's had various injuries since he burst onto the scene and led the nation as a true freshman by averaging 189 yards. Flashed at times but, by no means looked like the RB from 4 seasons ago. He displayed good vision and can't be arm tackled. Left the game in the 2nd half with a leg injury. Grade: Neutral

Jeremiah Chapman 90 6'4.0" 243 4.85E DE 2008
Made a couple of tackes and is good at stringing out a plays toward the sideline. Got pressure on the QB a few times but, had a key offsides when he lined up in the neutral zone. Projects to a 3-4 LB but, I'm not sure he's got the speed for that position.Grade: Neutral

Tyrell Fenroy 32 5'10.0" 180 4.45E RB 2009
Has been nursing a sore ankle and saw limited duty. With Tyrell's performance he didn't need to see much else. Had 6 carries by my account and had a 42 yard TD run and a 69 yard TD run! I had him down for 6 carries and 122 yards and 2 TDs. Looks bigger than 180 lbs. Grade: Very Positive

Game Notes: Michael Desmoreaux QB LL had an impressive night. He had 271 total yards passing and throwing and about 200 of those running. In the old days he would be an option QB but, now days you spread it out and run it!.... Aaron Weathers FS NT impressed me against Oklahoma earlier in the year but, was quiet tonight....NT has some young talent on offense and should see improvement in the years to come as Todd Dodge assembles players that fit his system. All three receivers for NT flashed some skills.

Do you think Michael Desmoreaux can play at the next level, and if so at what position? unsure.gif

Funny note about NT.

I live about halfway between Denton Tx and Fayettville Ark. The Mean Green was playing the Ravorbacks that Saturday. I was leaving out of the Wendy s parking lot here when 5 team buses pulled in to the parking lot to the south. As everyone was piling out of the North Texas bus, I drove over and asked "Where are you guys headed?". WIthout a second's pause, One of the players said "Another loss." poor guys.

Thomas doesnt fit anywhere into Dodges system much the way Shaud Williams didnt at Texas Tech. Luckily for WIlliams he was able to bolt town but Thomas is going to have to earn his ticket via a pro day.

The more I see of Desormeaux the more I think he'd fit somewhere. He's got good moves in the open field and is tough. Not bad speed either. I have no idea what position though.
