Yale did nothing but run the ball all day, and Lehigh just couldn’t stop them. The Elis racked up more than 400 yards on the ground and watched sensational RB Mike McLeod break his own Yale single-game rushing record with 276 yards.

Cliff Dawson got some nice headlines for Harvard the last few years, and set the all-time Ivy rushing record en-route to a roster spot with the Colts. Mike McLeod is even better. He’s got NFL speed and can get to the corner and turn on the burners. He hits the hole quickly and decisively, but is patient enough to allow his blocks to develop. When he’s in traffic, he’s not a particularly strong runner, but he’s slippery without doing a whole lot of juking. Defenders just seem to slide off him if they don’t wrap him up. On the first series of the game, McLeod was running very well before he fumbled the ball near the opponent’s goal line, ending the early scoring threat (his first fumble in more than 350 carries). He brushed it off and bounced right back. He’s one to watch this and next fall. (Grade: A )
Players to watch: OLB Brady Hart (Jr) – Brady Hart had a solid game. He showed some versatility at the LB position as he was solid against the run, rushed the passer, and even dropped back into coverage and picked off a pass. LG Jeff Monaco (Sr) – Monaco moved very well and seemed to be a real tactician at LG. At this level, he has adequate strength, but it is a real concern for the next level. His athleticism and technical skills could get him a look, though.

Sedale Threatt - 3 - 6’ 2.2” - 210 - 4.65 - QB - 2008
On the second series of the game, Threatt really put a nice run together, connecting on three straight passes and rushed for the game’s first TD. He had a decent first half, connecting on most of his passes and moving the ball fairly well. In the second half, after Yale took a 17-7 lead, Threatt seemed to start pressing and forcing the ball into coverage. He showed nice athleticism, but he makes too many mistakes. (Grade: C- )
Jim Kehs - 63 - 6’ 4.2” - 300 - 5.40 - OT - 2008
Kehs played an OK game, however he showed himself to be quite susceptible to the edge speed rush as he lunged instead of using his feet (which looked better than I expected) to get to the defender. He looked very shaky in pass blocking. As a run blocker, he was more impressive, although I question his overall strength. (Grade: C )
Ernest Moore - 19 - 5’ 11.3” - 195 - 4.70 - S - 2008
He caught McLeod in the backfield one time for a TFL, but I only noticed him in on another tackle or two. I didn’t really see him enough to grade him. (Grade: INC )
Players to watch: OLB Tim Diamond (Jr) – This kid was all over the field, making play after play. I swear he made every tackle on the first Yale offensive series. He was stout against the run and even showed off some skills as a pass defender. He’s probably nothing more than a try-hard guy, but he’s got quite a motor.
