With Morris out for a month and Maroney still gimpy, who is out on the street that they could bring in to share the load with Faulk and Evans? I've heard Kevin Barlow. That seems crazy to me, but does anybody think that Maroney will play in all of the last 10 games? I hate to start saying things like that, be he doesn't seem able to stay on the field.

According to Mike Reiss of the Boston Globe, Kevin Barlow was in yesterday afternoon for a tryout with the Patriots. Other players who could be considered would include Verron Haynes formerly of the Steelers and Wali Lundy who played for Houston last year. The trading deadline has passed, so no trades can take place with players who are presently on active rosters. The pickings are slim but if Sammy Morris is out for an extended stay the Patriots must make a roster move since Lawrence Maroney seems to be cashing his paychecks from the hot tub. One last long shot if the situation was deemed desperate might be a call to Corey Dillon but I just don't see that happening. Barlow appears to be the best option.---thanks for listening--rich from newport

Kevan ,that's what's his parents named him, is a big back about 238 with sub 4.6 speed, if he gets sprinkled with the same magic pixie dust they use on retread RBs he may do some impressive things. wink.gif

Why do I feel like Heath Evans, Kyle Eckel, and Kevin Faulk will be just fine... ?
