LAL put this game on a silver platter as they had it in control. Rusty Smith marched FAU down the field with about a minute left to tie the game and send it into OT. FAU kept their Sunbelt Conf. crown hopes alive with this squeaker of a win!

College: Louisiana Lafayette Conference:Sunbelt Columnist:Brett Walker
Name # Ht Wt Speed Pos Class Game Note

Tyrell Fenroy 32 5'10.0" 186 4.45E RB 2009

19 for 93 yards. They didn't feed him enough because his ankle is still bothering him. When he does get the ball he breaks tackles and can hit a hole quickly. Grade: Positive

College: Florida Atlantic Conference:Sunbelt Columnist:Brett Walker
Name # Ht Wt Speed Pos Class Game Note

Taheem Acevedo 6 6'1.0" 220 4.65E S 2008

Active safety who is the leader of the secondary. He had six tackles and an interception. Has good instincts, but needs a little more at first glance to get to the next level. Grade: Positive

Josh Pinnick 97 6'5.0" 220 4.90E DE 2008

DNP with a knee injury. I believe he's done for the year.

Game Notes: Florida Atlantic has a lot of underclassmen who we'll see in the future. QB Rusty Smith has NFL size and threw for over 300 yards without an interception. He's a sophmore.....Charles Pierre JR RB ran hard and broke tackles as he finished the day with 93 yards on 16 carries. He split the carries with FB Willie Rose and RB DiIvory Edgecomb...... FR CB Tavious Polo has seven interceptions on the year, but he wasn't really tested because LAL runs the ball the majority of the time....... Robert St. Clair is a DT JR who pushes the pocket and stripped the ball for a fumble. He also showed he can get off blocks. He left the game in the 3rd QT with a knee injury and it did not look good..... LB Cergile Sincere is someone who has gotten some preseason publicity. He's a senior and I was slightly impressed and will be getting another look at him soon. He had 9 tackles on the evening......LAL JR QB Michael Desormeaux continues to rack up yards on the ground. He's not a prospect as a QB, but may find a place somewhere. Maybe safety??? WR JR Jason Chery is a 4.3 40 guy. He doesn't get many passes because of the style of offense at LAL. He does get chances on 4-6 passes, 2-3 reverses, and ST touches to showcase his skills in space. He's on the small side and I'll be watching for some more bulk and growth next year.

BW, do you know Cergile Sincere's triangle numbers? About how big are Charles Pierre, Tavious Polo and Robert St. Clair?
Just how big is Jason Chery and how fast do you think Michael Desormeaux is? unsure.gif

Jason Chery was listed on LAL site as 5'10". I'm guessing Desormeaux could probably do a 4.65 40. I haven't seen him get run down from behind. He's got good cut moves in the open field too.
I don't have Cergil Sincere's numbers. I'll get back to you on the other guys real quick.

Robert St. Clair 6-2 250
Tavaious Polo 5-10 160
Charles Pierre 5-9 210

I'd guess on Sincere a 40 time of 4.8 give or take. Maybe a tad faster??

BW, thanks who of all those you saw has the best chance to play on Sunday? wink.gif

While only a sophmore Rusty Smith is 6-5 and looks to have the majority of skills at the QB position. He should get a good chance in a couple of years.
St. Clair might if he can transition to an OLB. He left with a knee injury before I got a good feel for his drop skills. I'm not sure how much he drops. I'll see FAU again before the year is out.

LAL Jason Chery will get a look with that kind of speed.

The downside of some of the small schools is that sometimes there isn't really anyone to get excited about.

I agree about Smith he reminds me of Ryan a couple of years ago, I hope St. Clair will be okay and I hope Cherry get to an All-Star game setting to see how he measures up.

Chery is still only a JR.
