Colt Brennan 15 6'2.4", 200, QB 2008: Finished the night 28/39 for 396 yards, 2TDs, and 1 INT. Looked good as he got rid of the ball quickly and played pitch and catch all night. Forced a throw in the red zone and was intercepted. Got knocked out of the game in the early 4th QTR as he took a shot to the head. Brennan needs to learn to just slide. When he ran out of the pocked bad things happened. He fumbled earlier while scrambling and then got knocked out. Has a funky 3/4 delivery. It concerns me as it makes him smaller and will lead to batted down balls at the line at the next level. Tough kid who is the unquestioned leader of the team. Grade: Slightly Postive
Davone Bess 7 5'10", 187, 4.48E WR 2009: This guy is the real deal. Looks like one big muscle in pads. Runs good routes and gets YAC. Looks just as quick as he is fast. Is a terror in space as he can cut at full speed in the open field. Finished 9 /98 yards. Good hands. GRADE: Positive
Jason Rivers 84 6'2", 186, 4.49E WR 2008: Had a good night as he finished with 3 catches for 86 yards and a TD grab. Smooth player who can get separation on the deep ball. Grade: Positive
Ryan Grice Mullen 1 5'11.0" 180 WR 2009: When Brennan needs a first down this is his guy. Soft hands and is reliable. Has the speed to to make defenders miss and the moves to get open. Another guy who works hard in the weight room. Finished with 9 catches for 128 yards. Grade: Positive
Michael Lafaele 67 6'0", 306 DT 2008: Was a terror in the first QTR as he showed good movement and was able to slide down the line or push off his blocker. Looked real strong against the Fresno linemen. Does a good job of fighting off blockers with hand placement and strength. Tired as the game wore on and wasn't as effective. Grade: Slightly Positive
Gerard Lewis 23 5'9", 4.43 175 CB: Very fluid hips. Is more physical with receivers this year. Shut down his half of the field. Got called on a PI, but it was very ticky tack and shouldn't have been called. I don't think he gave up a pass all night. Grade: Positive
Myron Newberry 3 5'9", 4.45 175 CB: The corner on the other side Myron had a positive night as well. He gave up only one out pattern on his side of the field. Had a fumble recovery. Pretty much the only pass plays given up by Hawaii were down the middle on the safeties or crossing patterns. The corners shut down the outsides. Grade: Positive.

Jason Shirley 97 6'4.0" 330 5.27 NT 2008
DNP Suspended for the year. No longer on the team. Shirley is going to have to get ready for the combine and show up in shape. I don't know if he has the discipline to do that.
Tyler Clutts 11 6'2.0" 245 4.75 DE 2008
Got called for offsides once. Had about 5 tackles and was around the ball. I think he's got some kind of injury as he is not as explosive and not the same player as last year. Is viewed as a LB for the next level. Grade: Slightly Negative
Ryan Wendell 77 6'2.0" 283 C 2008
Has an excellent ability to take the bull rush, drop his hips, and stand up the defenders. Opened holes and sealed off the corner. Had a difficult time with Lafaele early in the game. Needs to play with better leverage at times because on one play he just got ran over. I'd also like to see his strength transfer to the field. Grade: Neutral
Game Notes: LBs Adam Leonard and Solomon Elimimian, both JRs, were active throughout the game and will be in the system for the 09 Draft. Elimimian had about 10 tackles and was always around the ball.....TE Bear Pascoe JR Fresno did not play due to injury and is another player who will be featured for the 09 Draft.... SO AJ Jefferson Fresno CB had a kickoff return for a TD. This kid is a kickoff specialist at this time and is currently 2nd in the nation in KOR and after this game may have moved up to number 1.
