Here's a very realistic scenerio:

Atlanta beats Tampa Bay
Green Bay beats Carolina
Houston beats New Orleans. Saints will likely play without LT Jammal Brown

Next Monday, there could be a 4 way tie for the division lead at 4-6. From that point it's very conceivable that the team that goes 3-3 over its last 6 games could win the division thus producing the first sub-five hundred playoff team in 25 years since the strike-shortened season of 1982.

That is the ONLY season any team with a a losing record has made the playoffs. Two teams made it that season. Detroit and Cleveland.

ha who would get the tiebraker?

While I agree with what you say about the possibility that 7-9 could win the division, next Monday if the Bucs lose they will be 5-5, as they currently stand at 5-4, so they would still be a game ahead. That would mean the division couldnt' be all square until the following week, and that would involve us beating Indy.

It's good to see us getting back to back wins though, and I hope we can beat Tampa this Sunday!

The first tie-breaker would be divisional record, and that's still up for grabs.

The AFC West is in a very similar boat right now if you look at the record in that division. Although, I'm pretty sure they could trounce the NFC South.
