I had this same feeling about Casey Hampton, and though his linemate Shaun Rogers received more attention I though he could be special, Kentwan Balmer is the best DT prospect from UNC since Ryan Sims and like many big DTs he is just beginning to figure out how to be dominant late in his college career. Balmer's senior campaign was by far his best with 59 tackles, 9.5 tackles for losses and 3.5 sacks. Balmer has been invited to the Senior Bowl and Hula Bowl.
He's 6'4.7" 303 with room to carry 20-30 more pounds with ease and he has power at the point, he is a good tackler, he ties up 2 blockers on every play and can been blockers with power or quickness. In the past his motor was very unimpressive but he is showing signs of maturity and will probably run about a 5.08 or better 40 at the combine.
He has a lot of qualities in common with Ty Warren but is more naturally fluid and faster.
