Taking into consideration the last few weeks, how is this recent winning streak affecting the rubes draft visions for next year's selection?

I was hoping nobody would point it out. laugh.gif Yeah, I think the Vikings are looking like the 2nd best team in the NFC North right now, and I think they're gonna roll all over Detroit on Sunday. sad.gif

Boycott Adrian Pederson!!! (same way we boycotted Favre right into the hall of fame tongue.gif)

The Vikings might be the second best team in the NFC North, If we beat the Lions and were in the Wild card hunt for the playoffs.

They are completely dominating the Lions on the ground right now. The Lions simply don't have an answer for this seemingly unstoppable running game. It's 21-10 right now, and the Vikings are down inside the 5 again...Check that, TD Bobby Wade. 28-10 currently. The Lions have simply cracked in the second half of the season. They aren't playing any defense and, though they can run the ball, they simply don't. Martz will need a new job next season, it's obvious that he doesn't know how to prioritize wins versus statistics. It's the same problem that he had in St. Louis, and the only time that Rams club was contenders was when Vermeil was the coach.

I'm getting tired of watching the Lions and hoping and wishing they'd USE some of the backs that they have. They simply have no emphasis on offensive line play or a running game, and that will continue to lose them games. Defensively, they just aren't getting up and hitting the RB at the point of attack. This is going to be an easy W for the Vikings.

my only issue with the vikings winning is that it kills their draft. They still will not be a GREAT team unless they pull some playmakers.

Asteinebach
There really aren't a lot of playmakers in the 2008 draft. It's a rather weak offensive class, and parts of the defense are spotty as well. Winning a few games will protect them from overpaying any QB that might be available, or whatever else they might be interested in.

I f you mean it kills from getting a top 10 player in the draft yes. But, there's great quality in the middle of the first round. Keith Rivers OLB USC, Adarius Bowman WR Oklahoma State, Reggie Smith CB, SS Oklahoma, Antoine Cason CB AU. If your looking into QB none the top 3 will start the first year for the Vikings. If this is true then you groom a good QB in the third round that not that far off a 1st rounder. I'm thinking a Colt Brennen or a Chad Henne either or both should be around in the 3 rd and the Vikings 2 picks in that round the second pick in this round could be a Mario Manningham a great possesion reciever and that the first round Bowman and Rice from last year and you become quite fromidable at wr. The second round Honestly goes to and he should be there is the TE from Missouri Martin Rucker. Getting something like that in the first 3 rounds would spell headaches around the league. It would also improve our defense.

good take lore...
i want to see how TJack does from here on out b4 i scrap him and move on to the next development. Bowman i would love in Vikings purple but don't think Chili would take one in the first round.

If your a Vikings fan, you cant help but be excited after the past few years. AP is going to be a building block. TJack is showing signs of progress. The defense is finally starting to do their thing which is create TO's and score points. I think the main focus of the draft will be a TE that can go down the seam. Shiancoe is decent but he isnt a Witten or Winslow. Oline will be solid once again next year. After TE, i think a safety or two would be something to look at. Sharper and Smith are getting up there in age!!! Go vikes. Take it to the little Cubs this weekend!
