Cal's fall from the top was officially completed as they fell apart in the Big Game against Stanford. The Cardinal was for the first time in 6 years, their first victory over Cal coach Jeff Tedford. Cal QB Nate Longshore was again just terrible as he threw 2 interceptions, one deep in Stanford territory with under 2 minutes left in the game. Cal WR's dropped passes all day, one by Senior Lavelle Hawkins in the endzone, which would have tied the game with less than 3 minutes left. Stanford fans stormed the field and completed Jim Harbaugh's first season in the best possible way, beating archirval Cal.

Stanford PP's:

Mark Bradford, WR, Stanford- The hero from the USC game had a pretty good game, catching an early touchdown. A big physical receiver, he finished with 5 receptions for 84 yards and the one touchdown: B

Evan Moore, WR, Stanford- The 6-7 giant receiver from Brea, California hauled in 4 receptions for 36 yards. He really needs to work on his route running, and using his tremendous size to catch the ball. Will be interesting to follow him throughout the workout process: C+

Cal PP's:

Thomas Decoud, S, Cal- Led Cal with 11 tackles. Story of the season for Decoud, a very strong run defender but really a liability in coverage. If he was any bigger, I'd suggest he be converted into a LB at the next level. He left his mark on Cal, a very emotional strong tackler, but just blows his coverage too often: B-

Justin Forsett, RB, Cal- Forsett finished with 19 carries for 91 yards. Cal just didn't feed the ball enough for him to break a couple big ones as he consistently did in the beginning of the year(when Cal actually won games). A good year for him, best of luck to him at the next level: B-

Lavelle Hawkins, WR, Cal- In his last game for the Bears, he dropped a sure touchdown that would have tied the game with less than 3 minutes to play. A couple plays later, Longshore through the clinching interception for Stanford. Hawkins did lead Cal with 7 receptions for 63 yards but dropped balls became a consistent theme for him this year and will surely hurt his draft status: C

Andrew Larson, P, Cal- An average of just under 40 yards per punt on 6 punts with one inside the 20. Larson is a solid special teams player that should be drafted somewhere late: B

Craig Stevens, TE, Cal- A highly ranked TE coming into the year, Stevens failed to impress me at any time during the season. He is a tremendous blocker but his route running is average at best and he's inconsistent catching the ball. Finished yesterday with only 2 receptions for 18 yards: C

Nate Longshore completed his miserable fall having a very average day, 22 of 46 for 246 yards with 1 touchdown and 1 interception. Ever since the Oergon game where he hurt his ankle, his effectiveness has been minimal. His status as starter is now questioned and he will probably have to hold off Kevin Riley next summer.

Stanford can now celebrate a somewhat triumphant year(beating #2 USC on the road, and ending their losing streak to Cal) under first year coach Jim Harbaugh. Cal will lick its wounds and might still play in a bowl game, if they are invited anyways.
