The Beavers scored first in the second overtime on a 25 yard pass to freshman WR James Rodgers. The Beavers d then stuffed the Ducks and to preserve their 38-31 lead. In the 111th Civil War, the road team won for the first time since 1996. The Ducks continued to struggle without their star QB Dennis Dixon, falling for the 3rd straight week after being #2. Using 2 QB's, but primarily Justin Roper, Oregon completed just 13 passes for 144 yards. Both teams had oppurtunities to win it in regulation, but Oregon St.'s Alexis Serna, who also set the Pac-10 record for consecutive extra points with 141, had a field blocked with 1:09 to play and Ducks placekicker Matt Evensen missed from 53 yards with 26 seconds to play.

Oregon St. PP's:

Yvenson Bernard, RB, Oregon St.- did not play

Kyle DeVan, C, Oregon St.- Opened holes for Oregon St. rushers to gain 214 yards and kept QB Lyle Moevao's jersey clean. A very solid day for DeVan and the entire Beaver oline: B

Joey LaRouque, LB, Oregon St.- The senior LB finished with 10 tackles and 1 TFL. A solid day for him but did allow Steward to carry him for a few yards on occasion, he's not the first LB to have this done this year: B-

Roy Schuening, OT, Oregon St.- ditto for Roy on the compliments paid to DeVan. Great job of finishing his blocks and opening holes for Beaver runners: B

Alexis Serna, K, Oregon St.- Set the Pac-10 record for consecutive extra points with 141. Hit 1-3 field goals, with one blocked(35 yards with just over a minute to play), and one missed(50 yards). Also punted 5 times for an average of just over 37 yards per punt: C+

Sammie Stroughter, WR, Oregon St.- did not play

Matt Sieverson finished with 158 all purpose yards(142 rushing on 27 carries with 1 touchdown). He did a great job replacing Bernard late in the season and had a magnificent day behind a solid performance by the Beaver offensive line. Also, the solid Beaver front 7, among the best in the nation, held Oregon to just over 3 yards per rush.

Oregon PP's:

Cameron Colvin, WR, Oregon- did not play

Dennis Dixon, QB, Oregon- did not play

Jonathon Stewart, RB, Oregon- Tried to will his team to victory with 39, yes 39, carries for 162 yards. However, on each play, it was an uphill battle with Beaver defenders swarming him. His long was only 21 yards and he was not able to sniff the endzone even once: B

Jaison Williams, WR, Oregon- Was held to just 2 receptions for 16 yards. Again affected by Oregon's anemic passing efficiency. He did have a couple oppurtunities to make the big play, but just couldn't come down with the catch: C

Oregon St. finishes the year 8-4 with a 6-3 Pac-10 record, winning 6 of its last 7 games, with the only loss coming on the road against USC. Oregon finishes losing its last 3 after losing QB Dennis Dixon early in its loss to Arizona. Both teams are bowl eligible.
