Seems like it could lead to some good debates. The floor is yours, boys...

He'll be a great fullback

in the CFL

I guess we call blatant displays of ignorance good debates around here.

Anyway, Tebow will be a raw prospect. In the offense, Meyer isn't exactly known for developing quarterbacks. He'll have to learn how to take snaps under center and develop his drop back footwork. He'll also have to learn this while learning to go through progressions in an NFL style quarterback and he'll have to break the habit of locking on to one player.

At the same time, every quarterback has to develop these skills- just Tebow will have to do this to a greater degree.

But Tebow has the arm strength to make every NFL throw. He's got a fantastic arm and will in fact make throws very few other quarterbacks will be able to make in the NFL. He's got a fantastic deep ball and his already solid accuracy will only get better as his poor mechanics and footwork are refined. He obviously also will add a new dimension to an offense as a runner. Obviously, his days of running people over will be numbered but he will still be good scrambling threat who will cause defensive coordinators nightmares when they are trying to game plan against him. And obvious, he has the intangible that all the great ones have- charisma, leadership, toughness, smarts.

With his physical skills and intangibles, I see no reason why he won't be able to overcome the obstacles he'll face when transitioning from college to pros. Barring anything unforeseen, he'll go in the first half of the first round.

This is the exact description of another urban meyer QB people talked about how he made all the throws and could scramble. how is mr smith doing right now by the way? Tebow can be a good QB but the same could be said about any prospect im just saying GMs are going to consider what happens when you draft a college system QB. Tebow has an above average arm not elite by any means and he is mobile to he will definately go on day1 barring injury. his throwing motion is awkward. In terms of arm strength i would say out of 100 he is 75-85 not a cannon arm. the kid in michigan Mallett the freshman that is a cannon arm and we might see it in the capitol one bowl.

Tebow has a great arm. I don't know what you've watched. He's certainly a better passer and athlete than Smith with better intangibles. And it's little early to give up on Smith...

every scout that went to Alex Smiths Combine said he had the best workout they had ever seen and i believe he throws better than Tebow and is just as athletic. Tebow needs Urban Meyer to put in some NFL plays to be a viable draft pick. out of his class I got Mustain Stafford and Bradford ahead of Tebow with juice williams right behind him

In his draft year barring unexpected red-shirts by other players or early declarations the elite arms are:
#1 Nate Davis Ball State
#2 Josh Freeman KSU
#3 Matthew Stafford UGA
#4 Ryan Perrilloux
#5 Mark Sanchez
Plus Arms:
#1 Daniel Raudabaugh
#2Tim Tebow UF
#3Mitch Mustain USC by way of Arkansas
#4 Rusty Smith FAU
#5 Jevan Snead Ole Miss by way of UT
Enough Arm
#1 Rob Schoenhoft The Ohio State University
#2 Colt McCoy Texas
#3 Jarrett Brown WVU
#4 Sean Canfield Oregon State
#5 Chris Turner Maryland
Borderline Arms:
#1 Kellen Lewis Indiana
#2 Zac Robinson Oklahoma State
#3 Donovan Porterie New Mexico
#4 Matt Grothe USF
#5 Dan LeFevour CMU

Of the 20 or so QBs carrying draftable grades for his year he's in the top 30 percentile, these things often change, offenses change, coaches get fired, QBs lose their starting spot, they get stronger, they get hurt they improve they regress, but the kid has character and raw talent but so did David Carr, how he grows as a passer and student of the game will determine if he becomes an elite pro.
Smith was more refined as a passer but not as powerful a runner or as fast, but he had great intangibles, I have interviewed him he is Steve Young book smart, gradduated a year and a half early with a 3.4 GPA in Econ and was big in community service, lost 1 game as a starter at Utah undefeated as a starter at Helix HS.

good list i totally agree. Awful lot of trojans on that list lol. I think Satfford Perrilloux and Sanchez will end up becoming the jewels of that class i didn't get to see much of josh freeman this year but i caught a game last year. he has alot of talent and athletism do you know what style offense ron prince is running over there? also do you guys have lists like this for future prospects anywhere on this site?

Josh Freeman will become the top QB prospect in that class. You heard it here first. Need a sleeper... A friend mentioned a kid at Fordham named John Skelton. I haven't seen him though. Bill, you know anything about this kid in your backyard?

Anyway, Tim Tebow looks like he's got a great future in the NFL (as an H-Back). Honestly, I don't know yet. He's got issues as a passer and it remains to be seen if those can be corrected. The biggest question with Alex Smith right now is his durability. I don't think that's as big an issue with Tebow who has toughness in spades.

I scouted Fordham twice this past season and was very impressed with Skelton. He has the tools to be a great one, but he should transfer to a IA school for the next couple of years and get more exposure and reps against top-level collegiate competition.
