Has he been a disappointment this season? I thought he was a highly sought after free agent last year... Now I see that he's not even starting...

Raiders fans?

ya havent heard much about him. but what about robert gallery. ive heard hes a bust but why? is he not good in pass coverage? overweight? not committed enough? i need someone who watches him on a weekly basis to explain please. thanks alot!

When he was at T he was the swinging gate. He was getting used and abused. He's better at G, but just a guy. Short arms were part of his problem at tackle.

See you have to undrstand the to Al Davis the commitment to Excellence means no rebuilding period. so we sign guys like Sands to sizable contracts to ride the bench. LaMont Jordan started of hot this year but in my oninion he has never been suited for the raiders offense. since Nappy Kaufman we started this whole Big Back trend with wheatley and no Jordan and out offense does not have the type of Oline that gives jjordan enough time to hit the hole especially when running him out of the single back. The Raiders have so much dead weight to cut to start over again but i don't see it happening anytime soon.

ok thanks i was always wondering. so he was definitley not worthy of the top pick overall or whenever he got drafted, i forget. he should of been more of like a 3rd rounder. and one more thing, how did he move that high if he wasnt that good? I thought it was that he had an excellent combine and all the measurables were outstanding but i could be wrong?

Robert Gallery was so overrated coming out of college. Yes Bwalker has it right is arms are to small. But lets not leave the scouts off the hook. When he was drafted OT picked high were regarded as the saftest picks you could make. Robert proved us all wrong. He had great size he started 44 straight games for the Hawks, He only allowed 1 sack in his senior year. He won the Outland bowl and the Raiders were in desperate need of O-line help. He just has not cut it. He was one of those people that have the season production intangibals but he was not there mentally. Since the opening day his head is not there. He would get bull-rushed get beat ont the outside. He is much better as a G not enough room for him to screw up. But the Raiders need to lose him and that contract. Its ridicoulous how much the Raiders are paying for him. Its True the Raiders have so much dead weight. They need to start over again. I doubt it with Al Davis riding the bus though.

Neithier he is playing very solidly. He is a very good wrap up tackler. He is not the greatest cover S, and because his lack of coverage skills he will never be a superstar. He is far from being a bust. He plays good against the run and most teams will be glad to have him.

you cant say he wont be a star because look at roy williams. he is horrible in pass coverage, so bad they take him out sometimes but he's still a star player in this league.

yeah but guys like roy and palomalu usually play up close like a 4 or 5th LB anyway i think we could have gotten more value at the pick we took huff in. he can be a good player but i don't see greatness usually year 3 is when guys come around look at Nnandi. huff played on an exeptional texas team maybe a better FS will bring his game up thomas Decoud from cal could be a nice day 2 pick if he falls that far. hes an athletic S with good tackling skills.

Huff is a bust and is a horrible safety. He is overrated in pass coverage because he's not thrown at often. Only because the Raiders can't stop the run. When he is thrown at he gives up the big third down to continue the drive. He maybe the softest player in the league and often runs away from contact. He gets blocked my smaller recievers and has horrible tackling technique. He doesn't wrap anyone up and takes horrible angles. A lot of a fans blame Stu but trust me it's Huff. He looks lost on the field and doesn't make plays. He tackles to high and tries to grab a lot. He is a bust and it shouldn't take three years for a player that was an all-american. Aso was a safety that was converted to CB so it took him a little time unlike Huff who was expected to be a playmaker but he plays scared. BUST
