Nobody loves to be the bully or beat up the bullies from the BCS than Pat Hill and Fresno State. Fresno got a 40-28 win as they physically beat up GT on the smurf turf at Boise, ID.

Jason Shirley 97 6'4.0" 330 5.27 NT 2008
DNP Suspended for the year. No longer on the team. Shirley is going to have to get ready for the combine and show up in shape. I don't know if he has the discipline to do that.
Tyler Clutts 11 6'2.0" 245 4.75 DE 2008
Had a big game. Had a sack and caused an intentional grounding on another play. Had a couple of QB hurries and in general was a factor on defense. Had 7 tackles. Grade: Positive
Ryan Wendell 77 6'2.0" 283 C 2008
Opened holes and sealed off the corner. Was able to turn his man and open a lane. Was a big factor in the dominant FSU run game. I've seen him several time and if I was an NFL GM I'd bring this kid to camp in a heartbeat. At this time he projects to an UDFA. Grade: Positive
Marcus Riley 31 6'1.0" 220 LB 2008
The WAC DPOTY showed why. Gets penetration and is able to make the tackle behind the LOS. Slices his way through blockers. Had 10 tackles by my count and was making plays all day. Grade: Positive
Clifton Smith 2 5'8.0" 190 RB/RS 2008
Clifton had a serious leg injury last year and by all accounts he is back! He was the star of the game and had 17 carries for 148 yards and 2 TDs. He also had 57 reception yards. Had many plays that swung the monetum in Fresno's favor. Broke a dump pass for big yardage and showed his ability to weave through traffic and break tackles. A Brian Westbrook style player, Clifton now throws his hat into the ring of multi-threat, terrors in space, return specialists for the upcoming draft. Grade: Very Positive

Darrell Robertson 90 6'5.0" 240 DE 2008
Showed a good ability to string the play along and hold his ground. Has good size to move to to OLB in a 3-4. Must learn to drop into coverage and play up. Had 3 solos and 1 assist. Grade: Neutral
Phillip Wheeler 41 6'1.5" 225 4.55 LB
Wheeler had about 11 tackles by my count. Showed a good motor. I liked what I saw from him, but this wasn't one of GT best defensive performances. I think the lack of DL pressure hurt his game.
Tashard Choice 22 6'0.2" 205 HB 2008
Was 12-69 yards when he left with a knee injury. I don't believe it was serious. Showed good burst, ability to cut, and run strong. Had a fumble, but was recovered by GT. Grade: Incomplete
Adam Oliver 42 6'4.0" 265 DE 2008
Did he even play??? If he did he didn't do anything. Grade: Negative
Durant Brooks 39
The Ray Guy Award Winner. Brooks shows the ability to kick it high so that the RS has to fair catch. Didn't really have a chance to boom any kicks. Showed good smarts and athleticism when a blocker got free and would have blocked his punt, but he slide stepped and did the rugby kick for a 44 yard punt. Averaged about 38 yards on his kicks for the day. Grade: Slightly Positive
Mike Cox 40 6'1.0" 250 FB 2008
Good lead blocker on several occasions. Whiffed on a block on one play. Doesn't bring anything else to the table. Grade: Neutral
Jamal Lewis 4 6' 0.0" 199 S 2008
Had 8 tackles. Didn't do anything special. Got called for a personal foul for hitting out of bounds. Grade: Neutral
Gary Guyton 58 6'3.0" 240 LB 2008
Showed an excellent motor and did a good job all day. Covered Smith and was able to shadow and mirror him. Was the most impressive GT defensive player on the day. Had 10 tackles on the day.Grade: Positive
Game Notes- Bear Pascoe TE Fresno had 6 catches for 72 yards. QB Tom Brandstater has really shown improvement and was 23-30 for 285 yards and a TD. Jon Monga DT Fresno had a sack and a strong game.....All three above players are JRs and will be put into the system and scouted heavily next year by CDS....Marlon Moore WR SO Fresno had 7 catches for 80 yards. He had a red zone fumble though....GT RB J Dwyer looked good in replacing Choice and was 12-71 yards and 2 TDs....Paul Johnson takes over GT next year and will bring the triple option to GT.
