i heard that al davis asked lane kiffin to quit.i mean, i thought he did a good job even though there record was 4-12.al didn't even give lane a chance.they had like 3 coaches already in like 5 years.at least give lane 1 more season.it's that because lane kiffin doesn't really a lot of good players and there defense can't stop the run.they have good players in the draft for the raiders to get like d-mac,sedrick ellis, chris long, desean jackson and glenn dorsey.and the raiders might get dennis green if lane quits.

Give Lane another chance. It wasn't his fault. There wasn't enough talent on that team. And u want Dennis Green to be your HC?

I have to agree with PackersPwnage here. Dennis Green? He did okay with the Vikes...when he had talent to spare. However, IMO, he never took them to their potential. In AZ he did nothing. Art Shell would be a better choice laugh.gif

Lane Kiffin always has the deer in the headlights look kinda like Eli Manning. His body and facial mannerisms are a bit strange. He seems like a good coach when you get passed the mannerisms. He definitely should get another chance.
Having said all that, it's the House of Mouse there in OAK. Who knows what goes on in Al's head??? A former genius who is being taken down by father time. It's actually very sad for those of us who are old enough to remember an innovator, great football man, and shrewd businessman.

It takes a certain kind of person to deal with Al. Lane showed back bone by letting the story slip about the letter, yes that came from lane's people no matter what is said. he basically said if you want me gone than fire me and show just how shaky this organization is, but i won't just quit and if he did quit Lane would probably never coach in the NFL again at least as a head coach. Al just wants to run the team his way Lane wants not total control but just a litle breathing room. IMO davis will give in thinking he is giving kiffin just enough rope to hang himself but kiffin might suprise everyone

The Raiders surprised me this year. They competed in most of their games and looked much better on offense. Give him at least another year. I don't know too much on the defensive coordinator situation, but the defense regressed from last year.

I believe that he had a lot of talent in Arizona. Whisenhunt has done a better job, but I still think that they have the talent to be a top contender in the NFC at this point. I agree with bwalker on this one. Al is beginning to lose it. I guess that'll happen when you get to the age around 80. Look at Steinbrenner.
