Anyone heard of Willie Copeland? D-2 National Champ - Valdosta State left-handed QB? I have heard that Coach Palmer has spoken to him and will be watching his Pro Day workout at Georgia. I watched the championship game on TV, wanted to see Xavier Omon play from NW Mizz and was surprised at how Copeland and Soph WR Cedric Jones played.

Why would the Giants be looking for another QB?

My guess would be because Jared Lorenzen is unlikely to be on the roster next year. He is a restricted free agent this year, but the Giants did not tender him and have only a Right of First Refusal on him. So, if you lose a QB from the roster, chances are you want to add one to replace him. That would be my educated response.

FYI, now I am hearing that the Titans, Giants and the Falcons have asked for film and will be at the Georgia Pro Day to watch Copeland...Could be a sleeper pick up. I also heard that he is currently 211lbs, not the 190lbs they had previously posted.

Latest news on Copeland is he has a private workout with the Giants. Meets with Palmer Monday before the Georgia Pro Day.

FYI, the Giants , Falcons and Patriots called Willie Copeland saying that they were interested in signing him at the conclusion of the draft as an UDFA.

He was called today by the Dolphins who said that they were interested in drafting him in the 7th round.

Long time away and lots of things can happen but they must be thinking of getting rid of Wright or Lorenzen or both.
