Vikeswookie
I see the Vikes going with either DE or S with their 1st rounder (17th overall)
Defender42
the vikings go DE or OL maybe but doubtfully WR

The Vikings I remember used to have an offense that struck fear in to opposing defenses. I remember when teams dreaded going in to the Metrodome. The packers used to lose there. I am a packers' fan. I remember when the bears/Packers rivalry died, and recently the Vikings/packers rivalry. How the bears turned it around was when Lovie Smith said it was the number one priority to beat the packers. I believe that a Good QB can change the whole Dynamic. You could get brohm or Flacco, and it would make your receivers better. The more the offense is on the field, the less the defense is. The result would be less yards allowed. And they would be more rested to maintain their stamina. What do you think?

When was the last time the #1 scoring offense won the Super Bowl? That would be the last time the Rams won in what, '98? I would much rather have a Defense that opposing teams fear. Too many people go for glamor and have expectations that aren't based in reality, more based in Madden than anything else. Football isn't sexy, it is the new gladiator arena and the teams with the defense that gets to the QB is the team to fear the most.
Any QB that gets drafted would have to come in and start all over. The Vikings would be better off soildifying the defense and getting as much skill around the QB as possible. At least then if the QB doesn't pan out, the D is scary and there is enough talent at the skill positions that any QB coming in would have it much easier.

I think you are missing my point, very few times did a great defense come without a good offense. If you want to bring up the rams as a point of reference, then i will bring up the obscurity of the ravens. There offense wasn't great but capable. I would say they are the worst offense to win the superbowl. I am saying that the MORE the OFFENSE is good/great, the LESS the DEFENSE has to play. that means they will give up less yards, and have less worn out players. NE had the greatest offense in history, and didn't win, but you would rather have there ability than random numbers that go against logic. There has never been a final four until this year that you have 4- 1 seeds make it. But that doesn't mean you would rather have been a 16 seed or 12 seed, thats ridiculous. The problem to mention to Vikings fans, your offense will never be as capable with T. Jackson, as the Old Ravens Teams. Your defense is no where near as good as their defense. The bears have a great defense, and i recall they missed the playoffs.

I didn't miss your point, you missed mine, which is get the dominate D and skill position players. Getting the skill players is the MORE OFFENSE and completeing the D will strike fear into oppenents.

What are the "random number that go against logic"? The only random thing I see being brought up is trying to compare NCAA basketball seeding to professionall football. No one is saying "I'd rather be seed X over seed Y" because that has nothing to do with football.
What I am saying is that I would rather have a dominate D and a capable O then a 18-1 season. Outscoring the league during the season is nice and all, but it doesn't mean anything if you can't win the Superbowl. The Vikings, IMO, aren't ready to win a Superbowl, they need to create a pass rush/pass defense much more than they need to replace the QB.

Of course I would love the talent the Pats had on offense, but the point is that you don't need all your talent on Offense or the greatest QB ever to win a Super, proof shown every year when the team that plays the best D in the playoffs wins.

As a packer fan, you should be more worried about how the pack will never have a offense as capable with Rodgers as it was with Favre then how good the Vikings O will be with Jackson, it will be fine as long as he keeps progressing from last year.

And the Bears don't have a great defense, they were good for a year and now they aren't.

skill players wont work out without the support system. It has been shown many times over. only a few players have been so good, that they could rise above, and all of them could be better with the right support system. I personally hope the Vikings target skill players. It would help give the packers another division title. I gave you a comparison to show you how ridiculus your arguement that you want to be a dominating team, what a joke, you believe that Chili wouldn't trade with Belle in a heart beat, even sell his soul to do so? I shouldn't even try to debate you, this is already above a level you can understand. EVERYONE WANTS TO WIN, AND BE THE FAVORITES! Vikings win a superbowl, i could be rude, but this is not the place, I will leave it at: The Vikings need to seriously improve, and get a good QB. I am worried about Rodgers, be he is in a SUPPORT structure with good TACKLES, and an excellent set of receivers, and decent halfback in grant. They run a high efficiency offense with quick passes, but would have time to find other routes because they have good TACKLES. Rodgers stepped up against a hard cowboys team and did much better than favre did. I don't think he can do that consistantly, but I am sure he is in a system to learn and get better. Rodgers was only one of a few players rated a 99 by Mel Kiper Jr. Who is T Jack? He is going to be out of the NFL in a few years because no one will want him as a number two, and wont sit as a number 3, just like Daunte Culpepper. The problem is, Culpepper is a huge upgrade over T Jack, and NO ONE wants him. Get a QB. Hopefully he is a T Jack/ Culpepper clone, so you will have to do it again in 2 years

I guess I was debating a retard, and I apologize to anyone I may have offended, picking on this "special" or "extrordinary" individual. I do realize he doesn't speak for all vikings fans

My Lord you are a child, I don't even know where to begin. I say the Vikings need skill players and support around Jackson and then you write the same thing and claim it as your own opinion that hasn't been heard before or that you speak for anyone but yourself.
Your "comparison" that "There has never been a final four until this year that you have 4- 1 seeds make it. But that doesn't mean you would rather have been a 16 seed or 12 seed, thats ridiculous" has nothing to do with wanting a dominate D. No one is saying they want to be a "12 or 16 seed" because that would be stupid, just like your "comparison". I even said you don't need an off the charts O because it is no indication that will will get you anywhere, while Defense still wins championships and if I were using your "comparison" that would be like saying "lets at least get ourselves a 3rd or 4th seed to give ourselves a better chance, but again, you're comparing basketball to football (hint: they are different sports where the only thing they have in common is that they use a ball)
Now Chili wants to sell his soul to trade something with "Belle"? I can only assume you mean Childress would want take the Patriots job in a second. Congrats, you just said something that any coach would do. "Hey McCarthy, why don't you come and coach Tom Brady and Randy Moss instead of Aaron Rodgers and Donald Driver." yeah he would jump on that in a sec, just like every coach in the league (maybe not Dungy, but hopefully you can grasp whats going on here)
Mel rated Rodgers a 99? Wow and none of his rankings or projects of how good players will be has ever been wrong guess nothing is going to change in Cheeseland without Favre. Guess thats why he was availble at the bottom of the 1st round, you know because he is so awesome? Please, he looks good as a back-up, in a game the pack still lost, and its the only time he went in to play and didn't break something, so I guess he is improving. Hate on Jackson all you want, but at least we can say he was improving at the end of the year and things are looking up for the next year. You have to face another cold winter in the middle of nowhere Wisconsin constantly wondering how far back the packer will fall without Favre. Good Luck with that.

In a real debate, the first person to resort to insults or cursing is the loser. To resort to such measures means you can no longer support yourself on the merits of your argument and are unable to discredit the other. As if your opinion meant anything. Maybe your mom cares, but not likely.
