Packers' Top Ten needs for depth

1. Quarterback.... Rodgers is injury prone, has had two major injuries in the span of 2 years

2. Cornerback.... Need a solid Nickel corner, future replacement for aging Harris and Woodson

3. Offensive Guard.... Last years rotation showed its weakness

4. Tight End.... No two Tight End sets with Bubba gone

5. Halfback.... Wynn only one of back ups good enough to carry the load, but he is injury risk as well

6. Offensive Tackle.... Starters aging, and Orrin Thompson hasn't shown the ability to become the starting Tackle

7. Fullback.... If you use a converted Linebacker as your starting FB, you need an upgrade, at least as depth

8. Defensive End.... KGB is getting old

9. Outside Linebacker.... even with the addition of Chillar, there is alot of weakness in the middle to end of this group. Hodge is always hurt. White is only a great special teams player. Popinga may move to DE, as it is his natural position.

10. Safety.... A solid first 3, but need to add one more IMO
beast
1)TE. The Packers like 2 TE sets, and they have a total of two TEs currently sign. And one of those two spent all of last year, on the IR list, and who knows if he's healthy now and will he stay healthy.

2)QB. Rodger has one major injury, and one injury that took him out for a week, which he might of been able to play, but MM said he won't even let Rodgers try to.

3)DE. Injuries killed the Packers DL last year, DT Cole and Jolly, had to go on the IR. And Injuries hurt about all the DE, we need better DE, because that's what kill us at the end of the year, not enough pressure, on the QB. Even when the CB played great, there was no pressure and Eli just waited until one of the WR got open.

4)OG. We need to get a OG. Colledge is a LT, and Spitz is a C. I like the Barbre kid a lot, but that still doesn't solve RG. Their Coston, but he plays two or three games and is injured for a while every single time.

5)CB. The need for CB is very over rated. The CB had two bad games, and really I can't blame the CB only for those games. The Dallas game didn't have Woodson, and for some reason the Packers played zone, hello the team can't play zone it was made for man to man. If you going to play zone, at least tell Harris to cover T.O. in bump and run every play, and let the other play zone, which the S looked HORRIBLE in zone. Please don't play zone again with this group. And the other game was the Giants game, which Eli had all the time in the world, their was no pressure, and Harris could play bump and run again that Giants WR, and that about the only guy that has beat Harris at the line, over and over. We got some young guy that could become something it giving time which the packers GM will give them.

6)OT, we got Colledge but that's about it other than the new FA Joe Toledo who has the talent but hasn't been able to stay healthy, if he can stay healthy, he could become very good. But still we can't count on him yet, and we really don't have a back-up RT other than Moll, and he hasn't prove at least to me that he can push anybody anywhere.

7)OLB. In my opinion we really need to stop getting OLB and start getting big S, because really that's how we play, our OLB, they don't really blitz, they just cover on pass plays. Also Poppinga shouldn't go to DE. Just blitz him from OLB, once in while.

8)S. Collins can cover his guy, and come up to play a stop, big he couldn't catch anything but the injury bug, even when it hit him on the hands. Bigby can't cover that well, but man can he close and hit. Rouse is looking like a young Sharper if only they could tackle better, but hey it was his rookie year.

9)DT. First of all you can never have too many good DT, and I think Harrell will become one. But their was the injury bug too both Jolly and Cole, I've heard Jolly may not be ready by the start of camp, but he should be cleared by the start of the season, I just hope he's in football shape then. And I haven't heard anything about Cole.

10) WR, ok we got Jennings and we got Jones but no body really else over future. Maybe K-Rob, maybe not. Driver getting up there, K-Rob is looking iffy but then again that was coming off a year off. And Martin does seem to be able to tap into his talent.

11) C. I would have C much higher, but we have Spitz who looks great there, if we could on;y solve the OG problem and gets to Spitz to C. This is really more of the OG problem than the C problem.

12)FB. For rookies having a total of one year of playing FB in the last 9 years (4 years and 5 year for the other) they looked great, they need more time and they'll be very good. I don't understand why people are hating on the fact that they haven played FB long, because they look just fine doing it. Stop hating the past, and look what their doing now, which is a good job. they will only get better.

13)RB. Grant, Jackson, Wynn and two vets. Grant was the second leading rusher in the last 7 weeks, and gained over 900 yards in 7 games. And by the end of the season both Jackson and Wynn have show they they have a lot of talent. Jackson needs to learn the system which in the last 2 games before the playoffs it looked like he has some what now, and Wynn need a fire under his butt, which theres a rumor that MM and TT did, and he's been working his butt off.

14)MLB. Barnett, looks fine, I've seen worst starter than Bishop as a rookie, and Hodge which may not make the team, but we got him so not much need here at all.

I think you did a great job making your list, I agree with alot of it, but don't have the time to go into detail right now, something to do on "WORK TIME". LOL I have a few disputes as well but very good overall

I hit my top 6. And had Nelson as going to the Packers (later than when they picked him but still)

The Packers seemed to hit most areas.

The only problem I see is that either Giocomini or Sitton may make the team but not both.

Why not both? We got room for both.

OT Clifton Colledge
OG Barbre Colledge
C Wells Coston
OG Spitz Sitton
OT Tauscher Giacomini
