Once again, i love this pick because the rams went with a need over the best player availible. Anyway long will be a franchise player that the rams need to lock up with a MONSTER contract.

I definately agree with you. Carriker is too big to move back outside now. Long is right at Dorsey's level though. Hes going to be a HOFer. Hes never going to stop working hard.

Rams go with Long unless they get blown away with a trade offer.
Falcons take Matty Ice because they have concerns over Dorsey's leg.
Raiders have been in contact with NO and NO may come up and get Dorsey.

I hope that comes true because a lot of mocks had the fins taking Henne with the 1st pick in the 2nd round. The fins have other needs more pressing. Not sure why the Lions would do that but hope they do.

I'm not so sure the need is as high as DE/OLB, WR, CB or OL. I would like to see Hardy slip to the late 2nd and the fins pick him there. Doubtful but my fingers are crossed.

Had 9 total, traded the 4th rounder last night to the Cowboys for Fasano TE and Ayodele LB. Picked Long so we have 7 left with no 4th or 5th round picks. Could possibly trade Taylor or other picks to get more.

Its a very safe pick for me. You know you're getting a solid lineman, but he's never going to blow your socks off. Its unspectacular, but a decent pick for them with where they are in terms of rebuilding.

I'd have taken Gholston myself, I love his pass rush ability and love how good he would be in the 3-4 defense, but I can't fault them for taking Jake.

Jake Long will be a very good LT. I am happy with the pick. He was my third choice. Trade first if they could, Dorsey 2nd. I believe he'll be as good as Thomas as a run blocker but not quite as good as a pass blocker. He;s a little more powerful but also a little stiff.
