RD 2 Pick 5(36) WR Jordy Nelson Kansas State
RD 2 Pick 25(56) QB Brian Brohm Louisville
RD 2 Pick 29(60) CB Patrick Lee Auburn
So far I have liked what they have done. Traded back picking up another pick. Jordy Nelson a 6-2 WR who is big but still has speed with a 4.49 40. Good numbers in college and with Driver getting older is a solid pick to me. I love this guy. Qb isnt really where I wanted the team to go this early in the draft, to me just making more pressure on the back of Aaron Rodgers, who already has the prob of living up to the Favre legend. Either way, one has to like Brohm he can battle Rodgers for the job and if Rodgers isnt the answer this could be the steal of the draft. Also, he was gonna be a top 10 pick if he had gone last year, so we will see how this pick pans out in the future. Then the third and final pick in the 2nd rd for the packers they took Patrick Lee a cb to come up under Al Harris and Charles Woodson who are very good, but ageing. He has good size and speed, still developing a little only started one year. Also, can do kick returns and help the team in special teams wise. Would have taken a couple other cbs here but still like the pick. Cant wait to see what they do in the rest of the draft

Why Nelson when 4 or 5 better receivers were on the board? I have no problem drafting a WR because driver is old and jones is unproven but Jordy Nelson? I've never heard of him!! Brohm is a great pick in my opinion. A top 3 pick last year and we got him at 56, I like that pick alot. And if Rodgers does pan out we can trade him in a couple of years for another pick. We needed a CB but I dont think lee. We should've picked Flowers earlier or instead of Lee went with the kid from Iowa i forgot his name at the time.

I like
2-36 WR Jordy Nelson
2-56 QB Brian Brohm
3-91 TE Jermichael Finley
4-102 DE Jeremy Thompson
4-135 OG Josh Sitton
I still can't find anything wrong with Nelson, I think he'll easily make the team, and could be the most talented WR. Nelson is very consistency. Out of his 12 games this season, he had at least 8 catches in 10 games, and at least 10 catches in 6. So all but two he has at least 8 and half the time he had at least 10 catches. He got at least 100 yards in 8 games, and at least 90 yards in 11 games, so there is one game that he didn't at least get 90 yards. And as a SR. he had five punt returns, but he took two of them for touchdowns, from 89 and 92 yards away. I don't think he would be a great return man in the punting game, but maybe the kicking game, he really know how to follow his blocking.
Brohm is just a really good fit into the system, and really good value, where we picked him.
Finley looks like a WR after the catch to me, and he has the size to willingness to become a good blocker. He's not a very good blocker now, but he never backed now from it trying or giving 100%. he can also spread the defense.
Thompson, was it the DE position but they kind of played, him differently than most DE. It wasn't asked to play just DE, he was asked to also do different things such as drop back in coverage, and basically this took away from he's stats at DE, because he was used in a lot of different ways that will not show up in the stats. But he has the quickness to become a speed back, like KGB, and the size to become a power DE like Kampman. He has great potential, now he just needs to work hard and have good coaching and time. (Also I'm told his brother is also a Packers OT Orrin Thompson, not sure it is true)
Josh Sitton, has played both OG, and RT, and blocked for Kevin Smith (who came close to breaking some of Barry Sanders college records) He is also passionate at what he does. Also I'm told they played an inside zone blocking. So that should help him learn our zone blocking faster.

Players I have not decided on
2-60 CB Patrick Lee
5-150 OT Breno Giacomini
Ok, Lee has all the physical tools, but I've heard he's too physical down field a lot more than I would like, because that reminds me of a former draft pick Ahmad Carroll . When Carroll was drafted I heard that, I though he could be taught to not be do physical, and he had the skills to be great. I was wrong, at least with him, I still think players can be taught not to do it, but I'm not so sure ever Carroll.
Giacomini is a former TE turned OT like Tony Moll. Like Moll, Giacomini is a good athlete for a OT. But like Moll may not have the strength to be a OT. Giacomini has the size to put on muscle, but had to put on a lot of weight fast going from TE to OT, so I'm trying it could be fat. What they really need to do with him, is get him into the weight room as often as possible, to try his fat into muscle, once that happen he could be a good OT. Also like Moll he doesn't have great technique because he hasn't been there lot. IMO he's not going to make a big impact soon but down the road could become a very good player.
==================================
Picks I don't like
7-209 QB Matt Flynn
7-217 WR Brett Swain
Fylnn can move is pretty smart, good TD to INT. But we already picked a QB, and this is the 7th round, why not just wait and pick up the best UDFA? We could of added a defensive players or somebody at a position we have not added anybody yet. There was Brian Johnston, DE 6'5" 276 Gardner-Webb, and Chauncey Washington, RB 6'0" 211 Southern Cal behind Flynn.
Swain, ok I like BPA, and don't care much about need, but when you got Driver, Jenning, Jones, K-Rob, (draft pick) Nelson, Martin, Bodiford and more, is a late 7th round WR really going to make your roster?
Picks after him were Caleb Campbell, S 6'2" 229 Army, Josh Barrett, S 6'2" 223 Arizona State, Kirk Barton, OT 6'5" 310, and a lot of OT.

Agreed on all the picks you like, I like them also. May not have been what I would have been picked, but I do like the selections in the end. Also, I like the Patrick Lee pick a little to early for me but i still think that hes a good cb and has the ability to be good in the nfl. Breno Giacomini is a good pick because we do need the offensive line help. Though they did wait to long in the draft to attack the need at offensive line. Agreed on the Matt Flynn pick did not like it that much and felt it was a waste of a pick. Swain is an okay pick but I agree that we have so many that it was not necesary since he will not prolly make the team. Overall I think the Packers draft went pretty well but yes could have been better.
