As most of you already know about the idiot Cedric Bensen is. I personaly thought he was going to step up this year and with competition from Forte have a strong season, but he just doesn't get it. Come on Cedric, first you get the Boating while Intoxicated and then you decide that wasn't enough you go out and drink in downtown Austin and drive home (we'll not really). Well I'll be surprised to see who is going to take a flyer on him, probably somebody, but why would any team want a supposed between the tackle runningback who is not tough and cannot stay out of trouble with the law.

According to John Clayton the Bears might take a look at Kevin Jones as a replacement, I don't know how I feel about this, but I guess its either him or Shaun Alexander. I wouldn't want Alexander because he falls down at the first contact. The first big wind gust in Chicago, he would probably fall down cause he thought he was hit. Oh well, I can't wait till football season and hope Forte steps up and is the runningback that everybody hopes he is.

I still think Kevin Jones is good,, but that is probably because i am naive....but where do you think Benson will end up??? My only guess is New England.

I'd say the Pats would definitely be in the running. They took a "problem child" at RB in Corey Dillon once before and turned up roses...

Corey Dillon was a stud who had locker room issues. Benson has shown nothing really to show he is a bonafide NFL back. I doubt the Pats take him in. He hasn't shown anything of note on the field in 4 years in Chi.

Also don't they have car service or taxi service in some of these big cities?? I know they do, but athletes refuse to use them. If they have to show off their hot car get hammered and call a tow truck. He'll take you and your rig home. Common sense is not so common. Or not at least when you're drinking I guess.

Touche! Excellent points, Brett. You win that argument hands down.

I like most thought Benson was Almost Ricky made over with slightly less talent out of texas,to a point i was very wrong and to a lesser degree i was correct.Hope tht makes sense

Benson's problems stem from the fact that he's always succeeded on talent alone, and once you get to the NFL, that doesn't work. I think his drinking issues stem from a dawning realization that he needs to entirely rework his mindset, and based on my experience, that's a very hard thing to do once you're in your mid-twenties. If you never had a work ethic yet have millions -- or had -- in the bank, how do you start over? The best thing for him would be to hire a team of shrinks, take a year off and hit the gym hard, but we all know that won't happen, especially when the Bears sue to recoup some of his signing bonus. Plus, right or wrong, someone will give him a shot. Bill Bidwell hasn't committed a major gaff in a while, so what about Arizona?

If he could somehow clock a sub 4.4, Al Davis would take a shot at him! smile.gif

I can't honestly see it being Arizona, Adam, since Benson isn't the sort of back that Ken Whisenhunt likes using in his offense. I think Whisenhunt has actually done a lot of good in Arizona already and I think Bidwell is deferring to him more often that not these days.

So, less than 18 months after getting to the SuperBowl on the back of a very good 2 headed running monster, the Bears now have neither guy on their roster and the grand total they received for these 2 backs is a 2nd round pick! Smart moves right there.

I can see Benson still having a place in the league, but he'll have to accept that nobody's gonna give him a lot of money. I mean, if Sean Alexander is struggling to find a job then so will Benson, though it wouldn't shock me if he ended up in Denver or Houston.
