I think they're legit. I love the D, and the O has some potential to be dangerous. Edwards is a game manager and Lynch will pound the clock. led by the best ST unit in the league, look for them in Febuary!

OK... you're crazy. wink.gif

Actually, I was a bit surprised by Buffalo's collapse. I was buying into them early on as well.

I thought they'd go 9-7 and be in the mix all year, I think I was just a year early.

I too was surprised by their play. However, I would like to extend a hearty THANK YOU to the Bills and their fans for the defeat of Denver which brought about yesterday's welcome reprieve of a stolen victory earlier in the year.

With LT seemingly healthy (or healthier), SD scares me. Thats going to be a great game!!! I expect the final scores to combine for at least 65

The thing I will be super interested in watching is Chico Rivera actually calling a defense on his own(against Indi in a playoff game). I think Lovie handcuffed Ron during the Bears cinderella season then let him go because they are a bush league organization.

The Charger defense under Rivera is not much different than it was under Cotrell, although you must take into consideration how difficult it would be to install new schemes during the season. However, where the Chargers have improved is inside the red zone. You can still get chunks of yards between the 20s, but inside the red zone they've tightened up under Rivera. I personally would like to see them turn Phillips loose more often, and come with a few more blitz packages. Against teams like Indy and Pittsburgh especially, I think that's the best scenario. With Indy you know they're going to pass, and you don't want to let Peyton sit there with all day to throw, or he'll pick you apart. With the Steelers, I think you want to overwhelm their undermanned OL to disrupt both their running game, and Big Ben. With the Titans, Fins, and Ravens you can afford to sit back more and be patient between the 20s.

How much of the scheme has he changed? I know you guys are built for a 3-4.

Not a lot. He has implemented some 4-3 packages, but that also almost blew up on them against the Chiefs, and it wasn't until he canned it in the 2nd half that they were able to slow KC down and make their move.

Amid the speculation of the cost Cassel would put on the Pat's cap this year if they decide to put the franchise tag on him, this is the figure I have seen, based on the contracts of the top 5 QBs in the NFL last year...$14.835 million.

That will indeed be tough unless the Pats cut Brady, or get real creative.
