Full Version: WTF?!?! Refs gave that away

So, not sure if anyone agrees with me or even watched the Lion / Viking game but I thought the Refs gave away the game. Two controversial calls gave away the game (IMO). I'm pretty sure Calvin Johnson was down before fumbling the football and the pass interference should not have been called against Bodden. The refs blew it, I'm pissed.

Yeah, I was def a little bitter towards the refs after that game (like any diehard fan) but I'm okay now... (refs) can't get it right everytime. I just thought it would have saved our season, seeing that we would have been 2 games out of first place.

(would have been)

Packers 3-3
Bears 3-3
Vikings 2-4
Lions 1-4

The thing is that over the course of a year (or in some cases 2) these things do have a habit of evening themselves out. So while you may have lost this game and feel as though it was down to a disputable call, at some point it will come back around and you will win a game thanks to a call which the opponents feel is disputable.

Yeah, Cjs you're right. But let me tell ya, that's still a tough pill to swallow. And EhJay, it's great to see some more Lions fans around here. I'm Adam, always up for a good Lions debate or conversation. smile.gif

Not to be confused, the site's administrator, Adam Davis, is also one of us. tongue.gif I'm getting really excited for the 2009 draft. With the bigger news in Detroit (the Williams trade), along with the fact that Millen is finally gone, means that 2009 can be the true rebuilding year to see what this team might look like for the next 'era.'

You should be excited. All I can say is this:

Look at the Falcons

Exactly. Precisely my point. Let's just say, I'm glad I picked up Mike Turner #1 in my fantasy draft...aside from this past week tongue.gif
RedRaider80
Adam you gonna do the IMD?
Asteinebach
If I get the Detroit Lions with the #1 overall pick, ya, sign me up tongue.gif

Coltsfan21 has them... You should ask for him to switch, hes usually cool about that stuff.

You know what, you guys are crazy. That was an interference. Haven't you ever heard of pushing him with your mind and then throwing air at him that causes him to drop the ball? I am sure that's a rule! wink.gif

Nice to meet you, Adam. My name is Ashton. I'm also excited about the next offseason, can't wait to see what we do.

I watched that game and I think Stevie Wonder could tell that the refs blew that game. They saw the Viqueens were struggling, so they decided to take matters into their own hands. Lions deserved to win, and should have won. The Calvin Johnson and Leigh Bodden calls were the worst calls made in NFL history. Lions-10 Zebras-12
