Trailing 21-6 on the road in Boston vs. the Northeastern Huskies at half time, the UNH Wildcats stormed back for a 33-21 win behind QB R.J. Toman, TE Scott Sicko and WR Michael Boyle. With RB CHad Cackert out, the real star of this one though was little Soph. scatback, Terrence Fox (#23, 5'8", 170) who showed great kick return ability and open field moves with the ball in his hands. QB Anthony Orio continued his solid play at QB for Northeastern, and RB Alex Broomfield continued to play well also, but the UNH Defensive line was the difference maker in the second half, constantly putting the pressure on Orio.

SCOUTING SUMMARY:

College: New Hampshire Conference: Colonial Athletic Columnist: Steve Martin
Name # Ht Wt Speed Pos Class Game Notes

Michael Boyle 83 5' 7.9" 185 4.50 WR 2009: Sure handed possession type who returns punts as well. Runs the ball quite a bit. Looks like 4.50 may be a tad generous, but he does cover a surprising amount of ground for a little guy. Safe punt returner. Good hands all around. UDFA. GRADE: Slightly positive

John Clements 7 5' 10.6" 175 4.47 CB 2009: Shows good coverage ability, and may be among the top 3-4 cover corners in the CAA. Too small to be effective in the run game, but sticks his nose in any way. If he can bulk up, he can get a shot at the CFL or AFL. GRADE: positive

Tom Bishop 18 6' 0.0" 215 5.05 P 2009: Actually handles all the kicking duties for UNH and handles them all pretty well. Not a huge leg. B+ punter and kicker, who just doesn't have an A game to give you. Nice onsides kicker. GRADE: Neutral

College: Northeastern Conference: Colonial Athletic Columnist: Steve Martin
Name # Ht Wt Speed Pos Class Game Notes

Anthony Orio 10 6' 1.7" 230 4.90 QB 2009: I have commented on Anthony extensively twice already, and will just add that he is very steady. He is what he is. Will never be a starter in the NFL, but could be a reliable spot starter and career journeyman if everything falls perfectly. From the neck up, he's King Kong. From the neck down, he's Jane. Showed he was a willing blocker too today, and also noticed he throws OK rolling to his left. GRADE: Neutral

Brian Mandeville 83 6' 5.0" 255 4.90 TE 2009: Still out. Thought he was back for this one, but not yet apparently...

Chris Plum 5 6' 1.7" 215 4.60 WR 2009: Quiet day for one of the CAAs best possession receivers who I have also previously covered. GRADE: neutral

Cord Parks 21 5' 10.2" 189 4.55 CB 2009: Really showing up big in the running game, and has just enough coverage ability and just enough size to bring him in as a UDFA. GRADE: Slightly positive

OTHER NOTES:

UNH: #23 Terrance Fox KR/RB/WR is just a sophomore, but he looks like he could be a CAA star the next two years. Got on the field today filling in for the injured Chad Cackert and really made the best of his opportunity.

#34 Matt Parent is a nice FCS linebacker.

#89 Junior TE Scott Sicko is good enough to be playing for any college team, and will be drafted late in 2010. Nice hands and size. Good TE speed. Stretches the seam. Deadly heading towards the sidelines and making catches falling out of bounds.

QB R.J. Toman looks pretty decent too. Accurate. Feels pressure and escapes it well. Pocket passer with OK arm strenght. Looks like he has the smarts and some intangibles.

Northeastern:

#2 Nate Thellan, the Soph. safety (6'2", 201) aggravated a shoulder, and was taken out.

#24 Rashad Jordan, a nice, big CAA corner (6'0", 194) is a junior who really picked up the slack nicelt especially defending the run. He will be a database guy next year.

#9 Alex Broomfield is definitely a TB to watch next year.
