In the first big rain storm to hit N. CA the field was drenched and standing water was in end zone. Rain finally subsided in the 4th QTR buy the conditions made passing and holding onto the ball difficult. Cal now goes to USC for a battle for the Pac 10 title.

NaDerris Ward 12 6' 4.0" 266 4.80 TE 2010
Did not play

Max Unger 60 6' 5.0" 300 5.15 OT 2009
Had a very good game. Plays hard to the whistle and when he pulls he hits and hits in the second level. Showed why he is a CDS Top 100 player. Gets push and turn. Uses good technique. Grade: Very Positive

Jaison Williams 4 6' 5.0" 240 4.61 WR 2009
Was 3/23 with a drop. He's a big target who settles into the zone but needs to show more and concentrate fully on every pass thrown his way. Grade: Slightly Negative

Nick Reed 49 6' 2.0" 255 4.75 DE 2009
Phenomenal game. Relentless motor with a good tight spin move. I counted 8 QB hurries or pressures during the day. He was constantly pressuring the QB. Five tackles on the day. Had a fumble recovery and caused a false start. Had one sack. I think he could easily step into a 3-4 at the next level and contribute in passing downs as a rush LB. Or he could play on passing downs in a 4-3. Either way, this kid can play. Grade: Very Positive

Patrick Chung 15 5' 10.7" 210 4.62 S 2009
Last year he played more of a Rover position. This year he's the free safety. He seems out of place to me based on this game. Seems to always be late over the top. Hits hard and knocked out Kevin Riley during the game. 5 tackles. Grade: Slightly Negative

Fenuki Tupou 57 6' 5.0" 322 5.25 OT 2009
Plays LT, but not a LT at the next level. Pins the corner and gets good drive on run plays. Needs to play to the whistle and at times seems to lose focus. On one extended play totally controlled his man and lost focus and almost gave up a sack. Looks to me to be a G at the pro level. Strong player who seems to have a good idea of putting his strength to use on the field. Grade: Neutral

Jerome Boyd 13 6' 1.0" 220 4.80 LB 2009
Not much to report. He had two tackles and did little of note. Grade: Negative

Jeremiah Johnson 24 5' 10.0" 200 4.55 HB 2009
Rips off chunks of yards in big pieces. Patient runner who follows his blocks. Smooth runner. Cuts quickly with good acceleration. May not have the homerun speed but an NFL back for sure. 20/117 with one TD. Grade: Positive

Nate Longshore 9 6' 3.7" 224 4.85 QB 2009
Came in off the bench when Riley went down to do a nice job. 13/27 for 136 yards. Strong player in the pocket who stands in and will take the hit. Can make the deep out throw with zip and power. Stats aren't great but showed a good ability to grind it out in the rain and not make any mistakes. Even though he lost his starting job he'll get into a camp for sure. Grade: Positive

Alex Mack 51 6' 5.0" 300 5.15 C 2009
Got called for a false start/illegal snap. Only error on the day and had his usual phenomenal day. Gets to the 2nd level and makes a block. Pulled and laid down a sweet cut block to spring his back for a big gain. Gets push and turn. May have trouble anchoring at the next level against the monster NTs and DTs in the NFL. Grade: Positive

Kevin Riley 13 6' 1.0" 224 4.80 QB 2011
Came out misfiring. Started to warm up and was 7/12 with a TD and an INT. Threw a perfect pass on a seam route for a TD. Left with a concussion in the 2nd QTR. Grade: INC

Zack Follett 56 6' 0.5" 238 4.75 LB 2009
Follet was everywhere. Had 11 tackles and seemed to always be around the ball. Outstanding motor. Had a sack and a TFL. Grade: Very Positive

Anthony Felder 7 6' 2.0" 235 4.80 LB 2009
Nothing to really report. He had 2 tackles and was a non factor. Grade: Negative

Nyan Boateng 8 6' 1.0" 210 4.50 WR 2009
Big target with good hands. Finds the soft spot in the zone and has outstanding yards after catch. Really coming on strong lately and I think they need to use him more. He had 3/56 yards with a TD. Grade: Positive

Worrell Williams 1 5' 11.5" 250 4.70 LB 2009
Outstanding day in pass coverage. Had a sack but let him slip away. 8 tackles and 2 passes defensed with an interception. Had a possible pick six but was tackled at the two. Another player who was everywhere on the field. Grade: Very Positive

Game Notes: The son of former MN Viking Steve Jordan is Camaron Jordan a DE for CAL. He's a SO and is an absolute beast. He had 10 tackles on the day....SO Jarvis Best was 16/97 rushing.....Oregon S TJ Ward had a big day. He had a forced fumble and had 11 tackles. He's a JR. CB CAL Derek Hagan closes quickly and has a good ability to track the ball. He had 6 tackles and 3 pass breakups. He's a JR......Note to self: Put all above players in the system for 2009 along with SyQuan Thompson CB and Verran Turner WR both of CAL.

yeah SyQuan Thompson has made huge steps in his play since his freshman year when he basically made robert meachem a first round pick

Big win for the Bears, they now control their own destiny for reaching the Rose Bowl(which includes beating USC and rival Stanford=unlikely), but still a good thing to have.

On Worrell Williams, I love the game and think he's a tremendous playmaker, but he's far too slow to play LB full time in the NFL if you ask me, did he look any quicker to you?

I agree. This is the first time I've seen him where he really stood out. Probably goes late in the draft because if you have a sibling who's a star you'll almost always get a good look. Follett and his motor really stood out as well as Camaron Jordan. Man that kid can play!
