...over the 13th-ranked UMass Minutemen, and they have literally dominated the clock with a bevy of RBs, and are beating up their far more highly-touted CAA rivals.

If UMaine (6-3, 3-2 in CAA) beats UMass, we could be looking at a playoff berth! GO MAINE!!

WOW! What a game! My alma mater held on for a 1-pt. win on a mixed extra point to defeat UMass 21-20 at their place for the first time since 1996. ThisMaine team has a ton of young stars coming of age together. If they can do the same thing at UNH, they could actually squeeze into a home field slot in the playoffs; and, four weeks ago, no one was daring to even dream of the playoffs.

Knocking off #13 should rank UMaine in the Top 25 for the first time in a long time.

They have four RBs who each carried for more than 70 yards, if I tallied right, led by freshman sensation FB/RB Jared Turcotte of Lewiston (ME) High School (RS freshman, 6'2", 232) who reminds me of Brian Leonard.

GO BLACK BEARS!

I am not sure what the final numbers were yet, but I bet we had the ball for close to 45 minutes. We also rushed for well over 300 yards. Just chewed up the clock, and forced QB Liam Coen into 3 picks.

No. But I had the dulcet tones of Greg Dickerson and Gary Tanguay to serenade me through it with pleasure. cool.gif

Yes, you did Mike. Well done!

Maine is now #21 in the national polls! First ranking in quite awhile, and a slot ahead of UMass.

Unfortunately, UNH lost this past weekend too, so knocking them off in 10 days isn't going to be worth as much.

If we run the table the next two weeks, we make the playoffs though.

Got a very nice email from Jack Cosgrove after I wrote to congratulate him on the win over UMass.
