What does everybody think of Josh Freeman? Do you think he will go out? If he does where do you think he will go?

I think he is a lock to declare. He decommitted from Nebraska and went to Kstate because of Ron Prince. Now that Prince is gone, I can't see him staying. As for where he goes. I honestly think he will either be the first or second quarterback taken in the draft. He has the strongest arm, good leadership skills and once the combine comes his stock will be sky rocketing.

As early as last season I was saying that Josh Freeman could be the first QB taken in this draft. He's got the tools and could really impress in post-season workouts if he declares.

I'd like to see him stick around one more year to develop even more, but with the prospect of a rookie salary cap arriving as soon as the 2010 draft, I might not get to see his senior season.

I will be very very surprised if he stays. He originally committed to Nebraska and was strong on them for over a year, but then left once Ron Prince was hired at Kansas State. Now that Price is gone, Freeman will be gone. Yesterday in the Omaha World Herald they did a story on him and he said that he is pissed with AD and President and basically said that he is leaving.

He has great tools and is a good kid, and he's going to come out. He'll probably be a first round pick, but I think he's a long way from being ready and could become a coach killer with his first team in the league. He has the mental mettle to survive early lumps, however, and I think he'll eventually become a good QB, but I just don't see him performing early on, especially if he goes to a poor team.

The best case scenario is late in the 1st to a team like the Jets. Colts or Patriots, a sutuation where he can sit for a few seasons and learn from a top shelf starter. Or even if the Bengals [highly unlikely] wanted to upgrade the #2 spot. I hope he can avoid a situation like Detroit, even KC would be better. wink.gif

The Bottom line of ESPN, Joe Schad reports he is going to declare for the draft. I doubt this is a surprise for anybody.

This is a bad move, he wasnt great this year, he should wait it out. 3rd round at best
Johanns21
I am going to agree and disagree with you.

I agree that he had a bad year, but I am going to disagree that he should have stayed. Freeman went to KState to play for Ron Prince. Freeman was very upset with the AD that he fired him and wasn't happy there anymore.

Freeman has an NFL arm and will do well at the combine. This will bring his stock up. He'll probably be selected any where from early second to the third round, like you said, but I doubt he would be any higher if he stayed.

I dont see him as more then a big armed backup

Leftwich is unmobile, made bad decision and couldnt move in the pocket.

Flacco was very productive and had a grwat head. I dont know much about Freemans smarts however... And I dont think he was all that productive. I say a worse Jamarcus which is pretty damn bad..

Jets? To me, the Jets and "top shelf starter" is an oxymoron. Which is something I said a long time ago would come back to bite the Jets in the backside.

im guessing you never scouted any of these players. flacco couldn't even pass tyler palko on the depth chart then he transferred where he had one good season. he made his rep off the senior bowl and his combine. he stood out to me at the college allstar comp where he threw liek 75 yards. freeman is a former top recruit who has thrown for over 8000 yards in 3 seasons and he just rushed for 14 tds this year in the sec. he just doesn't get alot of publicity because his team stinks.
bcdrama
If he transferred to even a 1-AA school like Sam Houston State, matures and gets in better shape he could have cracked the late 1st, as it is even a great combine barely gets him to the 2nd. He has Culpepper upside and downside. wink.gif

He'll be a top 50 pick.
