CSU used a good ground game and some timely turnovers to move to 5-6 and have a chance to become bowl eligible. NM finished it's season and will stay home this year. They have 16 surgeries scheduled for the off season. It's been a tough year for the Lobos.

Kory Sperry 80 6' 6.0" 250 4.70 TE 2009
Big, tall target who has some route running skills. More receiver than blocker. Can pluck the ball off of someones head in the red zone. Goes up and gets the ball. In blocking, make no mistake he is not an in line blocker. He's best blocking in space and using angles. Will give an effort at blocking. Caught one ball for 20 yards and really wasn't featured in this game. A player that will be drafted and could go mid rounds or late depending upon workouts. Grade: Slightly Positive

Kyle Bell 34 6' 1.6" 226 4.65 HB 2009
A player that ran for over 1200 yards two years ago is now on the bench seeing only spot carries. Had 7 carries for 24 yards. Looks to be a short yardage specialist at best at the next level. Quality kid who is handling his demotion. Will need some luck to get into a camp with little or no SR tape to show. Grade: Incomplete

Mike Pagnotta 13 5' 11.5" 200 4.70 S 2009
Shoulder injury and is out for the season.

Gartrell Johnson 5 5' 11.0" 225 4.55 HB 2009
The "Predator" has run for over 1,000 yards this seson. Catches the ball out of the backfield and is solid in open space. Good balance and needs to be wrapped up, if he's hit he'll bounce off and keep going. Can carry the pile and runs hards. Had his first fumble in over 500 carries but it was not lost to the opposition. Perfect helmet to ball forced the fumble. Has some shake and bake to him and is best when he's cutting it once and getting N and S. At times shakes and bakes too much. Physically looks like Steven Jackson, but does not have his homerun speed. Same style runner as Jackson as well. Rushing 30/131 1 TD, Receiving 3/47. Another player that looks to be a mid-late round draft selection. Grade: Positive

DeAndre Wright 2 5' 10.5" 193 4.50 CB 2009
Has a shoulder separation and played in a shoulder harness. Shoulder is scheduled for a surgery soon. Shouldn't have even been playing, but the shoulder can't get any worse, so Wright sucked it up and played. Tough to get a good evaluation based on this game. NM plays primarily M2M and he couldn't jam, play press, or lift his right arm above his shoulder. Had 2 tackles and didn't give up anything large. Played further off his man than usual and did shy a little from contact. Basically, was covering with his legs and did a good job at that. He's a draftable player when healthy and the shoulder will no doubt affect his status. Grade: Incomplete

Glover Quin 19 6' 0.0" 203 4.49 CB 2009
5 tackles and an interception. Showed outstanding ability to track the ball on the interception. Fine job staying home on a reverse and doesn't shy away from contact. Likes to get physical with the WRs and give a little punishment. Had an outstanding play in the red zone. Covered the RB out of the flat then peeled off to bat down a for sure TD pass. Had outstanding coverage on the day. Grade: Very Positive

Rodney Ferguson 21 5' 11.4" 229 4.54 HB 2009
Likes to stiff arm the opponent and keep him away. Will fight for more yards and falls forward. Was on his way to a very nice day until NM fell too far behind and had to throw all the time. Was 14-88 yards. He's a smooth runner who is very patient and follows his blocks. Doesn't look to have the homerun speed you'd like, but should see time on Sundays. Grade: Positive

Game Notes- WR Rahaun Greer is a big target who was 6/71 and is a JR. He's a RZ target. Opposite Greer is a speedy, zone stretcher WR Deion Morton. He's also a JR and was 5/92 yards and had a fantastic catch where he tapped his feet to stay in bounds in the back of the end zone. NM JR MLB McPeek is a speedy guy who is solid in coverage and a good tackler. All of these guys will be in our system for 2009... Lots of NFL prospects in this game. I think all of them have a good chance to be drafted from NM and Johnson and Sperry will be drafted from CSU.
