I sure hope that this past sunday was just a bad game and not a sign of things to come. The defense looked horrible. They came in as one of the best teams against the run and didn't do what they did in the past games. That allowed Ryan Grant to run all over them.

I am afraid to say that it IS a sign of things to come. The bears have a ton of money wrapped up into an under acheiving defense.

We only have one safety (mike brown) and he never plays a full season.

Vasher and Tillman aren't as bad as they seem this year and aren't as good as they seemed the super bowl season. Somewhere in between. (pressure on the qb would help them alot)

Briggs is very solid. The platoon at strong side really needs to be fixed. This isn't hindsight, they NEVER should have gave into Urlachers demands! He is aging and just came off of major neck surgery.

Tommie Harris when healthy is a top 3 DT in the NFL. But will he ever be healthy again?

The o-line has played suprisingly well. If you see Chris Williams start at left tackle sunday, it will be a good sign that the bears understand how bad they are and are looking to the future.

Orton is better than advertised (IMO). He clearly doesn't have a receiver that even remotely resembles a #1. Honesltl Hester and Davis are #3's in my mind.

I am not impressed with the coaching staff. With 3 more years on his contract and the bears being natoriously cheap, we are stuck with this staff for a while.

Via FA and the Draft the bears really need #1 wr, 2 dl that can rush the passer, 1 or 2 lb, 2 safeties, 2 oline men for depth and youth and PLEASE GOD! a punter

Yes it has been a huge disappointment that they cannot stay healthy or play to their ability. I was also disappointed that the Bears went away from the defense that has shut down the run the entire season. All season long they have been loading up the box, but for whatever reason Lovie or Babich decided that they were not going to do that. Then once the Packers started to run the ball well, they didn't adjust back to the way they did in the past.

I don't know that they were actually dominate against the run. That might have been an over rated stat. They gave up low rushing yards per game because everyone pass for 7 trillion yards a a game against them.

That being said, they did set thier mind out on shutting down the titans game and did a fine job!
