A brutual game for the first three quarters between two bad football teams actually turned into an exciting game. WSU won it's 4th out of the last 5 Apple Cups and gained it's first win over a BCS team.

Mesphin Forrester 23 6' 1.0" 202 4.55 S 2009
Forrester was hurt earlier in the year and is now back playing corner. Had good coverage on the day and saw a lot of Brandon Gibson. Had a pass defense in the end zone in OT. Also had an interception. 2 tackles on the evening. Showed good ball awareness and the ability to mirror a WR and stay with him. An intriguing player who has position flexibility. Grade: Positive

Jordan White-Frisbee 76 6' 4.7" 368 5.54 OG 2009
Big man mountain. Moves people out of their gaps when he gets into them. Has balance issues and seems to always be on the ground. Gathers himself to block in space or when cutting. Glacially slow. Stoned a rusher on a blitz as the rusher just hit a brick wall. Has outstanding size, but I can't see much here with his lack of speed and quickness. Grade: Slightly Negative

Daniel Teo-Nesheim 66 6' 4.0" 263 4.81 DE 2009
The best defensive player on the WA team. Outstanding motor and can slice through the line and create pressure. Protects his legs from cut blocks and stacks and sheds. Can get engulfed when bigger linemen get into him. Pursuit of the ball is outstanding. Wore down as the game went on, but does have good stamina. A draftable player. Ended the day with 9 tackles, one sack,1.5 TFL, and 2 QB hurries. Grade: Positive

Brandon Gibson 4 6' 1.0" 202 4.50 WR 2009
One of the top WR from last year has a QB who can't get him the ball. Gibson was 5 for 27 yards. Most of the stuff he sees is quick hitter type throws. Quick outs, slants, hitches, and the QB still can't throw it accurately. Catches everything that comes his way, but the deep stuff has been taken out of his skill set by poor QB play. Grade: Neutral

Devin Frischknecht 80 6' 2.0" 251 4.75 TE 2009
Same situation as Gibson with the lack of talent at QB. Not a bad blocker for his size and sets the edge and gives a good effort at blocking. Looks the ball in and has some RAC ability. Definitely something here with this kid. Lack of production will hurt him, but may be a better player than we are seeing. 3 for 33 on the day. Grade: Somewhat Positive

Greg Trent 52 5' 10.0" 230 4.80 LB 2009
Gets trucked by linemen when they are able to get into him. Plays sideline to sideline. Makes tons of tackles. 12 tackles on the day. Lacks the big play and makes a lot of his tackles on his side of the line of scrimmage. Good form and technique. Gap shooter on blitzes. Really struggles to shed OL blocks. Grade: Somewhat Positive

Game Notes: FR LB WSU Louis Bland had 9 tackles and some big plays. He had 3 TFL and one that saved the game for the Cougars. He's a former 3 time CA high school wrestling champ. He also had a pass defensed....OT WSU Kenny Alfred showed some good feet and protection and will be scouted heavily next year. He's a JR.
